Port Canaveral

We are considering sailing on Royal Caribbean FOS. I believe it sails from Port Canaveral, FL. Which airport is the closest to this port?

Orlando is about an hour away. We rented a car at Orlando for one-way pre & post cruise.

Its not a very easy port to fly into as its one like Galveston where the airport isnt close.

Orlando (MCO) is the closest major airport. It is a straight shot out a toll road, about 45 minutes. You can rent a car or take a shuttle.

 

Other choices are Daytona Beach, Melbourne, or Sanford.

 

Honestly, I'd rather fly into Orlando and sail from Port Canaveral than have to deal with the traffic in other cities! It is a super convenient port.

It is also an excuse to go to Disney for a day or 2. Rent a car, spend some time in Orlando either before or after the cruise and have fun.

We are leaving out of Port Canaveral and crusing with our large family so it works for us. It really depends on the size of your group as to whether this might be a good deal for transportation.
