mbisson Posted December 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2010 Just wondering what our options are for lunch. Anything other than buffet? It's not a big deal...we'll be fine no matter what. We board in about 16 hrs! WooHoo

Sargent_Schultz Posted December 11, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2010 plus Asian Corner, I think Taste of Nation is Cajun + the regular buffet. I think at embarkation, a salad bar was set up where the desert station normally is. I had to check to see what I had - a Corned Beef and Pastrami with Swiss on Rye, grilled. Some of our embarkation day lunch menus on this page: http://www.zydecocruiser.com/CarnivalTriumph/nola/nolaSept6.htm
serene56 Posted December 11, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 11, 2010 oh mi gosh--it all looks so good. Its only been less then a year since we cruised=== do you think the buffet menu on the first day is fleet wide?
Genesis803 Posted December 11, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 11, 2010 The buffet lunch on embarkation day is New Orleans themed. It was the best buffet lunch of the whole trip in my opinion. Enjoy!

Its only been less then a year since we cruised=== do you think the buffet menu on the first day is fleet wide? Never really compared. Often we end up at the deli which is always the same. I'll have to try to keep track.

GrandBistro Posted December 11, 2010 #9 Share Posted December 11, 2010 On Princess ships, one dining room is open for lunch on embarkation day. Maybe other lines, too, I don't know. Alas, not Carnival. I think maybe Carnival MDRs are always close on port days? There is always a lot to do, unpack, explore, people watch, etc. I sometimes take clothes to the laundry on embarkation day to iron anything that needs it, especially for cruise elegant diners, then that's done for the cruise.
