Kid free ship

You will not find a Carnival cruise without kids. If you could I would suggest a May cruise. We have cruised in May 3 times and although there were children on board, they were minimal, and not at all intrusive. Love kids, but we cruise to get away from the world, and for us that also includes children.

And according to John Heald's blog there are no plans to do so in the future. You might try Princess or Holland America - there will still be kids onboard but not nearly in the same numbers - we choose Carnival and RCCL primarily because they are family friendly - not saying the other lines aren't, but it's nice for our kids to have the option of many others their own ages to make friends with. It's one of the things we all look forward to on our trips.

Nope. Carnival caters to families so you won't find any kid free ships...Some areas are adult only (casino, serenity pool..etc) , but there will still be kids onboard.

Maybe consider traveling when school is still in session. There will still be kids, but not as many.

Otherwise, I would try an higher end line and a cruise longer than a week to see very few to no children in the summer.

No mainstream cruiseline offers an adult only cruise. If you want to cruise when schools are out there will be tons of kids onboard. There are areas of the ship such as the casino and serenity that are adults only. You might want to consider a cruise right after Labor day. There will be far less kids onboard.

I've never been bothered by other folk's kids on a cruise...and we generally cruise during spring break times! Maybe we've been lucky, but for me, kids (that aren't mine!) are just something to ignore on a cruise. As long as I don't have to care for them, I don't really care if they're there or not. Aside from the pool area, we'd seldom encounter them!

I think the camp carnival staff does a fantastic job of entertaining the kids, there were over 700 kids on board on the last cruise and I wouldnt have ever known it, there were some at the pool, very few in the dining room and really we didnt notice them misbehaving at all - now if only we could have said the same for the 19-20 something college spring breakers.

True, but some lines cater more to kids than others. Silversea, Regent, Crystal, Cunard, and even Celebrity and HAL are very limited in what they offer to families with children. Sometimes there are no programs for kids at all.

To those dreaming of a cruise with no kids, why even cruise Carnival? Why not go with one of the adult oriented lines above, or adult-only land based resorts? Just curious.

Does Carnival offer adults only cruises? DW and I really want to take a summer cruise however, way too many kids for that! Cruised to Mexico once in the summer and it was MISERABLE due to so many underage...

Nope... not unless you charter the ship.

Carnival prides itself on how family friendly their ships are and I don't think you'll ever see them add a cruise that excludes children.

:)

Carnival is the opposite cruiseline than you want. Try a higher end cruiseline like HAL, even Celebrity and Princess have less kids.

RCL and Carnival cater to families .. its their target it seems.

Oh well...I'll continue to cruise carnival cause I like the party atmosphere We'll just continue to be selective as to when we cruise. Thats why we sleep late and stay up half the night! LOL

While I aggree that the more upscale lines will have fewer kids onboard I know that Summer is peak travel time for famlies. If you read the reviews on CC for HAL and Celebrity there are many comments about the large number of kids onboard. I have been on cruises with over 800 kids onboard. Never bothered me. As long as they are not at the seat next t me at the Blackjack table, then I'm a happy camper !!

We cruised Mexican Riveria the first week in January, and except for one scavenger hunt we saw them running around on, I don't recall ever seeing children. They must have been hiding!

Late dinner is a good start towards avoiding them.

them as in rodents, or children?

Having them parade the kids down the promenade screeching (attempting to sing) at one in the afternoon while trying to read is NOT what I call doing a good job. Happened on both Conquest before and then the Ecstasty last year. The lady on Charge of Cc on Conquest a avoided meeting with me those last 3 days of the cruise. This is one of the main reasons we do not cruise Carnival all the time.

I didn't see either in the late seating.

I don't mind children at all, as long as they are well behaved. But ill-behaved adults piss me off just as much.

you got that right 100%! I know enough when to pull my kids, but too bad some are too ignorant to do so, and disrupt things for others.

I didn't say you would not find kids on those lines, I just said their programs are very limited, and sometimes nonexistent. It's up to the kid-haters to do the research on which sailings are likely to have kids, such as when school's out. ;)

... Still trying to figure out how one is miserable around kids. They are God's gift of joy, and are our replacements...

I agree! :D I guess that's why I love teaching high school! I have seen more adults behaving badly than children!
