bgaylemccord Posted December 29, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2010 RCCL has changed the format of their site. I must admit that I found it more time comsuming to locate or research cruises with the new format. In fact it is confusing to say the least. Does anyone else feel the same way or is it just me? LifesaBanquet Posted December 29, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2010 It is awkward and terribly slow. It reminds me of the websites of some other cruise lines, I think it was Carnival, that I always have trouble using. YUK!
pcur Posted December 29, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2010 RCCL has changed the format of their site. You are not alone: I think it sucks, BIG TIME. It takes much longer to get the information, and my computer runs really slow on this part of their web site. I hope they fix it. Cruise Cat Posted December 29, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2010 All cruise lines seem to be dumbing down there searches to inhibit experienced cruisers!
Ashland Posted December 29, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2010 HATE IT...But are they listening or care....I think not
satxdiver Posted December 29, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2010 It definitely is a step backward. I found it difficult to use. I hope their IT department changes it soon.
north29 Posted December 29, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2010 The only problem I have had with it, is that it still will, as of yesterday, not let us look at Cruise enhancement???????? I did have some strange things on my reservations, they us as two children LOL, I called RC, I guess it was Christmas eve or Christmas day, and as I pulled the cruises up again, it went from two children, to one adult and a child and then finally to 2 adults, almost right before my eyes. The girl I talked to said she saw the two children on it as well but blame it on a major power outage?????? a major corporation web site that vulnerable to power? jennmaybe Posted December 29, 2010 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2010 Another disliker here! It is incredibly slow and I found it more difficult to navigate through it. Like another poster said......are they listening or do they care? My guess is probably not.
Avidcruiser Posted December 29, 2010 #9 Share Posted December 29, 2010 Its driving me crazy. Trying to research a cruise for girls weekend. I had a few precious minutes and I had to stop due to frustration with the website's speed! Its ridiculous can't even load basic info. Thanks for listening :)
cruzlvrs Posted December 29, 2010 #10 Share Posted December 29, 2010 I have been trying for two days to look up some cruises and I have had no success. The site is horribly slow and I keep getting "locked up". I have given up. WAAAAY to frustrating!
rontravel Posted December 29, 2010 #11 Share Posted December 29, 2010 RCCL's new website is certainly not an upgrade. Yes it has nice pretty graphics and colors but who cares. I need speed, speed, speed!!! The old search was much more efficient. As an IT professional and a part time TA this makes me crazy. Their system has serious performance issues. Obviously it was never stress tested to see if it could handle the inputs quickly. In the IT world speed = money. The slower the system the more expensive it is in wasted time which converts directly to wasted dollars. I'm hoping this is just growing pains and will go away. It appears that their servers are not robust enough to run all those graphics at very high speeds. And what's up with the way it searches? You click Caribbean and it searches for EVERY Caribbean cruise. At least allow all the search parameters to be entered and then let the user hit SEARCH. JimandPamm Posted December 29, 2010 #12 Share Posted December 29, 2010 The cruise search section is extremely slow and hangs up constantly. I will do my seacrhing on another cruise line.
flcruzer03 Posted December 29, 2010 #13 Share Posted December 29, 2010 ditto...I refuse to try & use it anymore either!!Hate the new design!
maxxedout2 Posted December 29, 2010 #14 Share Posted December 29, 2010 They didn't do enough testing. They just flunked 'Servers 101'. Way too many bugs and slow. My Mac doesn't see it the way my PC does. However, I did manage to grab a great 'Tuesday flash sale' price so all is forgiven! :D
cottagemama Posted December 29, 2010 #15 Share Posted December 29, 2010 I too hate it. I thought the slowness might be my PC but that's no the case as I've been on other sights. Also I hate when you go to room selection & it asks if I want to upgrade?? Wish they'd go back to old web page:(
karena1 Posted December 29, 2010 #16 Share Posted December 29, 2010 I hate it. Takes forever to look up cruises. Slow, Slow, Slow!!!!!! Old format was much quicker and way more user friendly. Can't believe they thought this was a step forward. More like 10 steps back.
Catperson Posted December 29, 2010 #17 Share Posted December 29, 2010 I used to check prices every day. Now I can't be bothered, the site is too slow and confusing and why do I see a picture of an ocean view cabin listed as a deluxe/suite?
centurycruiser Posted December 29, 2010 #18 Share Posted December 29, 2010 I agree with everyone who dislikes the "new" website. I guess this is proof that everything that is new is not always better. Maybe they are still trying to iron out the bugs. Not only is it really sloooooooooooow, but, it seems to forget options. Click one of the search options and after taking forever to update the results other search options previously selected drop off. I am also amazed by how often the site is down during the day. I would think they would shut it down for maintenance sometime over night rather than during the day. That's why I think they may be trying to iron out the bugs. Could could critical problems and they don't want to wait until no one is using it.
msumike Posted December 29, 2010 #19 Share Posted December 29, 2010 I don't like it. Reminds me of Carnival's. It's new, I'll get use to it !!!
webnut Posted December 30, 2010 #20 Share Posted December 30, 2010 Ughhhh!!! I hate it! No more do I spend time planning and searching for a cruise. I get so annoyed after a few minutes that I just close the tab on the entire website. It STINKS! Dorothy

KittyCat1Million Posted December 30, 2010 #23 Share Posted December 30, 2010 What I don't understand about the website change is that it is so slow/frustrating/diffiicult to use that it will discourage customers from booking directly online. And isn't that the most cost saving way for the company to have people book? I mean no travel agency fee, no cost of an employee or contract employee to book cruise. What gives? I definitely started to book most of my cruises with RCL online, direct. The last several ones were done in that manner. I guess they really don't want us to do that anymore. ahornb Posted December 30, 2010 #24 Share Posted December 30, 2010 Has anyone else had trouble accessing their pre-cruise planner on up coming trips?
mudpievelour Posted December 30, 2010 #25 Share Posted December 30, 2010 What I don't like is that you can't go in and look at excursions before you book a cruise. You used to be able to do that, and it helped us decide whether we wanted to go on an RCCL cruise or not. Our cruise isn't booked yet (waiting for annual bonus to come through) but we would like to show friends what they would be able to do or see on the cruise if they went with us. Bummer!:(
