How early is to early?

Sept. is a low season month so there may be some deals out there early(March or April). Most of the good deals come later as hotels try to sell off rooms that will go empty. Go to www.betterbidding.com for help with bidding strategies and information on recent winning bids for both Priceline and Hotwire. Good luck! :)

In my opinion it is way too early to bid on a hotel for Sept. There are no refunds, changes or cancellations allowed with Priceline so if you buy a room now and your plans change, you are out the money. Also Priceline will charge your credit card immediately, so you will pay now for a room you won't be using until next Sept.

Marie brings up an excellent point that you are screwed if your plans change.

However, you'll almost always get a better rate if you can bid early. However, it really isn't going to make that much difference, you may save a few dollars at most.
