twospoiled Posted January 18, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2011 My upcomin cruise isn't until September but am considering bidding on Priceline for a room. How early is to early to start bidding for September? I have never tried the bidding before so go easy on me please!:p
JohninDC Posted January 18, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2011 Sept. is a low season month so there may be some deals out there early(March or April). Most of the good deals come later as hotels try to sell off rooms that will go empty. Go to www.betterbidding.com for help with bidding strategies and information on recent winning bids for both Priceline and Hotwire. Good luck! :)
Marie51 Posted January 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2011 In my opinion it is way too early to bid on a hotel for Sept. There are no refunds, changes or cancellations allowed with Priceline so if you buy a room now and your plans change, you are out the money. Also Priceline will charge your credit card immediately, so you will pay now for a room you won't be using until next Sept.
BlueHerons Posted January 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 18, 2011 Marie brings up an excellent point that you are screwed if your plans change. However, you'll almost always get a better rate if you can bid early. However, it really isn't going to make that much difference, you may save a few dollars at most.
