can you open the dividers between balconies?

Not unless it is 6145 and 6147 or 6146 and 6148. :cool:

 

Also the dividers between 6143 and 6145 and 6144 and 6146. You can go from 6143 all the way to the penthouse in 6147. Same on the other side. Hopefully you will only do this if you know the people in the other cabins! :D

 

These dividers can all be opened because they're part of a fire escape route. However, they're not designed to remain open--there's no way to hook the partition doors open.

 

The rest of the dividers on M class ships are fixed and cannot be opened. As for the dividers on the S class, they are all designed to be opened, no matter what the telephone reps tell you. Those poor folks have never been on a ship and nobody ever tells them anything.

We've always had the room steward open the balconies without any problem, and also have him/her empty out our fridge so we can use it for our personal stuff. Tipping athe steward at the beginning of the cruise assures you of always having the ice bucket filled! My pet peave is waking up in the middle of the night and not having access to ice water.

 

It's great to be able to visit with your group in the privacy of your own balcony, meet for drinks before dinner, share breakfast, getting together when approaching or leaving port, etc.

On Celebrity you don't have to tip your stateroom attendant ahead of time to have the ice bucket filled. All you have to do is ask, and you shall receive.

@Geepmaley: We were in Category C3 staterooms 1001, 1003, and 1005 and had our room steward open the balcony doors to create an expansive balcony in front of all three staterooms. We could see other staterooms on other decks and many other guests had adjoining balcony doors open as well.

How did you find stateroom 1001? We booked guaranteed concierge and have just been allocated it on Solstice. Was there any noise from the bridge? Busy corridors due to crew access?

Point that is being made is that on the M class ships they are not physically able to open them unless they have a torch Tipping is not necessary at the beginning of a cruise, some of the employees consider it an insult to be tipped at the beginning.
