Is the Radiance of the Seas "cursed"?

Then that means she left closer to 4,right?

I was thinking around 3:30 but if it was "around" 6, then I guess they could have left at 3am. But I also heard she was moving quite slowly even after passing under the bridge so maybe they took 3 hours to make it to the bridge. I'm looking forward to hearing how the Cozumel visit goes.

We were on the 1/22 sailing and had the family suite in the back of the ship. Coming out and going into Tampa we had a Tug on the rear of the ship pushing or guiding us. Did not make for a good sleeping night but other than that it was a great cruise. Would do it again

Please dont flame me...........im just asking a silly question :)

The Radiance sure seems to be having her share of problems and I find that strange for a ship that isnt even 10 years old yet.

The plumbing problems on board seem to be getting more widespread and now she is having "engine issues".

Im a little worried about my upcoming cruise to say the least yet I know there is nothing i can do but go with the flow.

I guess the biggest worry is having a flooded out cabin and them not having another cabin to put me in since i have to have a HA cabin or my cruise being delayed or shortened because of other issues like the engine.

Sorry y'all. Stressing out this close to sail time is what I do best it seems lol. :(:o Just hate to hear such negative news on what seems to be a lot of cruisers favorite ship.

We sailed on a very full Serenade of the Seas (sister ship) for a member cruise in 2009 and our cabin (deck 7 on the hump) had plumbing issues from the beginning of the cruise and on day 4 I believe it was, after having the plumber come multiple times a pipe broke in the wall, maintenance, the pursers desk....everyone ignored our calls and our cabin was flooded. A river literally ran through it. Finally my husband found a cabin steward (not our own) who took things seriously and called maintenance and using some expletives, told them in no uncertain terms to get to our cabin. We realized we could be flooded and put everything on the floor on the bed.

It was painful, the officers we dealt with were rude and difficult for the most part but we pushed for the cabin to be taken care of (they wanted to move us from our balcony to an inside...we knew they would do this and just leave us so it was out of the question), we stood our ground and insisted that the cabin be fixed since I have serious mold allergies. They had carpet onboard and ripped out the carpeting, put the furniture on the balcony, dried out the cabin and replaced the carpeting, put in all new linens and drapes and we were back in our cabin before dinner that night. We did receive a ship board credit to compensate us, however, it would have been much nicer had the officers we had dealt with been nicer with us and not turned away whenever we saw them in the halls, on the stairs, at events we attended. The way that they behaved was positively shameful. This cruise was for our 33rd anniversary!

I am telling you this not to scare you, but to help you to know that they can resolve situations with the plumbing if you stand your ground and insist that you are taken care of. This is a holiday for you. We did not have problems with the engines or anything else mechanical just the plumbing. We have cruised many times since then and have been very pleased. That cruise we just simply had some people in power onboard who were not very nice to deal with and innefective at doing many things except making excuses. We are on Radiance in apr 1012.

Best of luck on your cruises, for all of you who are going on the Radiance. Should a problem occur with your plumbing, my best advice is be as civil as possible but stand your ground and make sure that you are taken care of. None of us can control noro virus hitting at sea or onland. All we can do is make sure we wash hands and be careful what we touch.

Ah...ok. I will wave to you as you pull into the port. I will recognize you, as you will be the one with all smiles!! :) I will be the one that they are trying to pry my hands from the railings! ;)

Have a great cruise, and we will be nice to her until you board!! :D

I was on the voyage of Jan 8th after the Noro outbreak and I will tell you the ship was beautiful and super clean. The staff was one of the best I have ever encountered. Our waiters Alfonso and Ammar were hard working and anyone else we met from the bartender in the Champagne bar to the waiters in the theatre went out of the way to make sure we were well taken care of. I would not think twice about re-booking on this ship..... Go have a good time and don't look for things to happen.

Yeah, just got off of the Radiance today as well and I was stressed that when we left, they told us at the port we wouldn't set sail until 3am. But you know what, besides the casino & shops onboard, everything was full functional, bars, restaurants, entertainment, rooms, etc... So really, it was pretty transparent and did not affect the cruise at all. They even made sure to give us a couple extra hours in Cozumel to make up for getting there a couple hours later, so again, the cruise was great and nothing missed.
