can I drink the water?

Of course you can drink the water! All of the food, ice, and drinks are made with the ship's water! However, it will never "run cold" from your tap...that's why they bring you ice twice a day! Plop some ice (made from ship's water) into your glass, and drink up! It's purer than any bottled water, and probably purer than your tap water at home!

Welcome to CC

Distilled water from ship is pretty good, free and actually probably better than what many people buy and think is purer and more healthy than their tap.

A newbie question for sure! Can I drink the water on the ship or do I have to buy bottled water?

Thank you!

The water on the ship is excellent and purer than most bottled water.

Not neccessarily.

If the ship cannot keep up with demand for water, re-cycled water is used for flushing the toilets.

So on a ship I never drink from the toilet bowl.

I have never sampled the toilet water, so I can't speak for its drinkability

That is a bit of an understatement. The water is either made in an evaporator which is like distilled water, or it is made using reverse osmosis -- usually the former -- and it is, therefore, absolutely pure save from some chlorine to keep the system safe.

Toilets rarely use potable water. No pun intended, it would be a waste of pure water.
