Serenade is moving to europe for summer 2012!

What about onboard spending? Depending what people spend onboard, revenues could be much higher in the Caribbean.

In published reports/interviews with RC officials, they have stated that company profits on shore excursions in Europe are many many many many times what they are in the Caribbean.

That would make sense too. It is a lot easier to arrange to see the highlights of a rather small Caribbean island on your own than to see a European city, that you may not be familiar with, on your own. The cruise lines have to price the island excursions somewhat reasonable as more people would look for alternative tour operators or venture out on their own. I can envision many people being far more unlikely to venture out on their own in a European city where they have to worry about being back to the ship in time. That gives the cruise lines much more leeway in mark-up.
