Did you make it to Half Moon Cay?

Just wanted to post a quick poll to see how many actually make it to the island?

 

We had to miss due to weather, high winds? It was one of the ports that we were most looking forward to visiting.

We got to Half Moon and LOVED it!

Such a great day at HMC. One of my favourite beach ports

We loved this port. Nothing to worry about except the beach, ocean, and good food. Save the excursions for another day!

We new that it could happen as with any tender port but were really hoping to make it. The Captain said it was due to the wind but when you were on deck it was one of the calmest days that we had. We read so many great reviews and that was one of the ports that made us decide on this cruise. Oh well, hopefully we will see it one day.

We went there once but because of a storm had to leave early. Sure want to go back.

We made it last April on the Glory...one word to describe HMC, PARADISE!!!

We are very fortunate - we are three for three - hopefully, in May, we will be four for four. :D

(We are also two for two for Grand Cayman.)

We have been very lucky! We have made it to HMC 3 out of 3 times...and we have never missed Grand Cayman either.

Have been there twice (but we had a monsoon last year:eek:)...thankfully we had rented a cabana! Hoping for a beautiful sunny day this year;)

That is awesome that so many cruisers have been able to enjoy HMC...

Been twice - can't wait to go back! We did miss Grand Turk on our last run, though - and it was pretty rocky out there! I think if it's too rough for the tenders (to safely get on and off) that's when they call it and cruise on by. We watched Grand Turk appear and then disappear - but I'm sure it was for the best - it really was rocky!!!!!

So far- and believe me, I'm counting my blessings- I've made it to every one of my tender ports, HMC included. We will be on the Liberty in June and one of the specific reasons is to go back to HMC. I realize that there is always the chance, but I may shed very large crocodile tears if we have to miss it. HMC is my favorite place thus far.

We missed it. :( Water too rough to tender in. It was a bit disappointing pulling away and watching the cabana we had rented fade into the distance. Cocktail time started early that day. :o

Made it five out of six times. The time we missed was on HAL. EM

Yup - I was on the same cruise and was surprised to hear the announcement that we were unable to tender in due to winds.....made it to HMC once before and was definitely looking forward to it again.

 

But I have been on a tender in high winds/choppy seas (grand cayman) and it was quite a challenge getting everyone back on the ship!

 

I was very disappointed but what can you do? Tried to enjoy another day at sea! :)

We made it in September! OMG I loved it! I so want to go back. If I could have painted a picture of the PERFECT place on earth...it would have been of HMC....

It might have something to do with the time of year that you sail. The beginning part of the year is the windy season in the caribbean. I remember checking on this a few years ago when I sent my mother on a cruise in January.
