lindy12 Posted February 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2011 If you are required to use a ship tender into the port, do they make regular runs back to the ship throughout the day? After seeing all the sights I wouldn't like to be stuck at the port for hours waiting for a tender to pick us up when we could be back on the ship enjoying some downtime there. paul929207 Posted February 20, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2011 The tenders run back and forth between the ship and the port all day. You will not be stuck in port for hours.

Ignoring overnite moorings or other peculiars, they'll run continuously from start to finish.:) They're over-subscribed first-thing, so unless you're on a ship-sponsored excursion you'll have a delay, once the rush is over they'll ply back & forth - though at up to mebbe 20 min intervals in quiet periods. Then it gets busy again & often a line at the pier approaching "last tender" time. John Bull
cb at sea Posted February 20, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2011 You can come and go as you wish....it's not as convenient as being docked, but it's totally doable!
romnan Posted February 20, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2011 No you will not be stuck in port.Like others have said once you get past the "cattle Rush" to get in things calm doen and on average you can get back to the ship about every 20-30 minutes:)
Talisker92 Posted February 20, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2011 Our only suggestion is to plan on getting the next to last tender. That way if you are delayed, you would not miss the ship

Although in many ports, the tenders dock in a more convenient location to attractions people want to see, compared to some other ports where the ship docks miles from anywhere and you end up taking a "land based tender", otherwise known as a shuttle bus LOL.
