Restaurant hopping and the tips

We will be on the Equinox AQ for 11 nights.

We will eat at specialty restaurants 5 nights and split the other 6 nights with Blu and the MDR.

From the pictures we've seen posted of the menus, we like the MDR menu better than Blu.

There is a good chance that we'll never see the same waiter twice.

Will the waiters all be tipped fairly?

If you have Select Dining you have prepaid your gratuities. We did an extra tip in the 2 specialty restaurants we ate in (you sign the slip just like you would in a restaurant and there is a space for extra tips should you want to do that). I don't know anything about Blu and in the MDR unless some extraordinary service is performed believe they are adequately included in the pre-arranged tips. If you do not have Select Dining, gratuities are still paid at the end of the cruise and will be distributed appropriately. There is plenty of opportunity to give someone special an extra tip if you so desire. You may see the same waiters more than you think - the dining rooms are not all that big in the specialty restaurants.

service & food in Blu for breakfast & dinner is truly excellent--we had the same servers & Sommelier most of the time & tipped extra-- only went out to specialty one night--Silk harvest (tipped extra) & the buffet one night...

pre-paid tips is basic but feel free to tip extra wherever or whenever service is above par--& on this ship it usually is!!!

The waiters will all be tipped fairly providing you leave the tips posted to your account in place. As others have said, you may tip anyone extra at any time.

You may be surprised at where you see these waiters. They have more duties than serving in the restaurants. They also work the buffet, the specialty brunches, etc. We got to know one waiter really well not from being at her table but from the great service she provided to us in the buffet. She definitely got extra tips from all that she took such great care of!
