My fiance and I are going on our first cruise in 27 days....yay!! But I was just wondering, what all happens before we board the ship? Do we go thru a medal detector, or x-ray scanner like airports? I know our luggage will go thru a scanner, but I didnt know if they made people go thru them too? Oh yeah, we're leaving out of Tampa. Don't know if that makes a difference or not?! :D

Pretty much like the airport. You step thru some kind of arch, I think it picks up metal. You put your carry ons thru a xray machine. Good news !!! You dont have to remove your shoes lol

 

They do even make my sister on a cane, give it up to xray it.

Was just there a month and a half ago, you do go through a metal detector, and possible risk being scanned just like the airport.
