m&m1329 Posted March 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2011 We see that the cost of fuel has increased here locally. We are cruising on the 20th of March. Just woundering if anyone has been notified of a additional $9.oo per day (as per Carnival Cruise Line) for the cost of fuel yet? :(
firefly333 Posted March 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2011 lol ...no not yet. If it starts you would see 10 threads on it on the front page.
Perfect Stranger Posted March 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2011 We'd all be reading about it by now if it happened.

golfadj Posted March 4, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 4, 2011 lol ...no not yet. If it starts you would see 10 threads on it on the front page. As opposed to the 5 per day now asking when it will happen.
Nanaimobound Posted March 4, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 4, 2011 We just missed it on our Princess Cruise in 2008 because we had a group and the final payment had been made. because the wording was a certain way in their contract, certain people depending on when they booked either got a discount or didn't have to pay. The following season they had changed the contract!
simpleman Posted March 4, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 4, 2011 They charged me $2600.00 for fuel and threw in the cabin, food, activities, etc.
Lovelylady226 Posted March 7, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 7, 2011 I went to their fuel supplement page, and I couldn't tell when they could actually charge it. Do they have the right if you have already paid in full. That would stink.
nanuak Posted March 7, 2011 #10 Share Posted March 7, 2011 I think we were charged $7 per person per day in 2008. I will not be happy if it is assessed this year, but it will not change our decision to cruise.
salty dingo Posted March 7, 2011 #11 Share Posted March 7, 2011 The more people who ask about it, the more Carnival knows people are expecting it. So expect it. Soon. Oil is $106 a barrel today and climbing!
laurenpie Posted March 7, 2011 #12 Share Posted March 7, 2011 We got a refund for it 2 Years ago on Royal Caribbean... That was nice :)
Perfect Stranger Posted March 7, 2011 #13 Share Posted March 7, 2011 The more people who ask about it, the more Carnival knows people are expecting it. So expect it. Soon. RIGHT! I wish people would use common sense and shut up about it already.
NanCan Posted March 7, 2011 #14 Share Posted March 7, 2011 I also got a refund when oil prices went down a few years ago in form of an OBC.. (I had to call, it is not automatic, but read about it on here :) ) but if I do get charged next month, I don't think that is unreasonable...felt the shock last time I filled up my gas tank, can only imagine filling up a ship! Aplmac Posted March 7, 2011 #15 Share Posted March 7, 2011 Oil is $106 a barrel today and climbing! We need to get wretched LIBYA sorted out :cool:and the whole silly overpricing-of-oil thing would simmer right down..
PA Dutchman Posted March 7, 2011 #16 Share Posted March 7, 2011 You are already paying it with higher cruise prices. This way they won't have all the bitching they had last time they added it
firefly333 Posted March 7, 2011 #17 Share Posted March 7, 2011 You are already paying it with higher cruise prices. This way they won't have all the bitching they had last time they added it Im not paying any higher prices ...so I have little faith when people post that they are paying more so Carnival wouldnt add it. sorry that you are having to pay more for your next cruise... it could get worse.
