meow! Posted March 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2011 We received an e-mail saying that with the introduction of the second large ship Riviera in 2012, Oceania will begin to have seven night voyages, the first time in its history. It is understandable that with such large new ships, eventually tripling its berths, Oceania may find it difficult to fill them, and is starting to look for as many potential customers as they can get. Outside of the newly affluent Asia, where cruising is not yet that popular, the entire Western world is still embroiled in economic chaos with no end in sight. This is difficult for all cruise lines and no one is immune. So there can be hope that cruise lines may not be able to raise fares as they wish (Silversea for example, tried to raise fares substantially, and is now using all sorts of additional benefits to correct for their excesses), and to this effect, Oceania should be no exception! Rare Cruise Junky Posted March 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2011 I think there's only 2 7 day itineraries. Both in November in Marina

wripro Posted March 11, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2011 I suspect there will soon be more. All the luxury lines have gone to primarily seven day cruises throughout the summer months.
orchestrapal Posted March 11, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 11, 2011 I suspect there will soon be more. All the luxury lines have gone to primarily seven day cruises throughout the summer months. That would be sad for many of us who want 30 days or more and would have to book 4 cruises...:(
wripro Posted March 12, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2011 I'm sure there will still be longer itineraries. But 30 days will always involve some b2b bookings which for me are never the same since you get a whole new passenger load every cruise and sometimes staff replacements. It breaks the continuity imo.
