Will they let you park your car at hotel while you are on your cruise?

Why so many negative reports about Amerisuites?

We only need for 1 night and wont get into FLL until 10:30PM.

Are rooms clean?

Hi. Yes we stay there a couple of times a year because they do let you leave your car there in their lot. Never had any trouble doing that at all. Will be there again in Feb. '05. Same time as you by the way.

Why so many negative posts? Because it's definitely not as classy as many of the other hotels in the immediate area. It's not dressed up quite as fancy as these other hotels but for the price we have always been very happy with the accommodations. The staff are always friendy and there's a decent buffet breakfast included. It's also within a 5-10 min. taxi ride to the pier and within a block of eating establishments and a Publix in a shopping mall.

Yes the rooms that we have had were clean and all are suites with a separate sitting area.

Here is their web site:

http://www.amerisuites.com/hotels/ajfz.shtml

But don't think you can get a better web price than at this site. 2005 rates are not listed yet:

http://www.valuetrips.com

Hope all this helps

Valuetrips don't have their 2005 rates , as you may have seen, published yet. I really can't say when they will show up. I'll keep watching over the next several months.

$89 for weekdays and $99 for weekend is the going rate for 2004. Also you have the option of guarantying or not guarantying your reservation with them.

www.hotelkingdom.com is another site I've used for the Amerisuites. Right now for Feb. it's showing that hotel for $109.

I wouldn't get in a panic yet to book. Still lots of time.

The actual Amerisuites web site shows $125. Even the girl at the desk when I spoke to her in Feb. said that's too high. Thought that was pretty good of her.

Cheryl:

Yes I will let you know. Not quite sure though how I will without your email as this thread will be long gone by then. icon_smile.gif

Hopefully a Feb. '05 rate will be $89. again. If it is, I will definitely take it.

Thanks, cdnguy. I just booked Amerisuites through hotelkingdom. I got January 27th for $109. I'll keep trying Priceline but at least I know that I won't be spending the night in the airport icon_smile.gif

I'm bboked there for 12/20 and hapened to ask them what their Bountiful Breakfast was, got told it was Fruits, Juice, Coffee, tea, cereal, pastries and "you-make-em" waffles.

Sounds like enough of a breakfast prior to boarding a ship.

They also told me that they have a van and a 15 passenger shuttle to go to both airport and pier, and you don't sign up for a time, you just tell them that morning when you want to go, and if the shuttle/van is there, then off you go.

Lorna that is correct about the continental breakfast and the shuttle van. Do be prepared for a "mass exodus" trying to get on the shuttle to the pier. Just let the driver know what ship you are on and how many in your party and he will usually tell you how long of a wait. If you decide to take a taxi (if you can get one) it will only be about $5. Valutrip rates went up from $69 in 2003 to $99 for 2004 for a weekend prime season rate, so getting a room @$109 isn't that bad for President's week. That is a major school vacation period.

Bon Voyage

Palolake - you can check but I think HotelKingdom has a cancellation fee. I would check that before you start bidding on Priceline. I think someone said it might be $25. I don't know for sure... but you should check first.

We stayed at the Amerisuites last Dec. and found it to be quite comfortable, breakfast was just enough, your know you are getting fed as soon as you get on the ship anyway...Left our car there for our 10 day cruise and found it just as we left it...Planning on doing the Amerisuites again this Dec.
