Villefranche taxis

:confused::confused:Are there taxi's at the Villefranche port when you get off the tenders. We'd like to do about 4-5 hours on our own or maybe with another couple and Eze and Monoco seem to be favored over the ships tour of Nice and Eze. What are your thoughts or suggestions.

Perhaps yes and perhaps no. You cannot count on French taxi drivers to come to a cruise port unless you telephone. Most drivers would prefer to sit with their morning coffee rather then wait at tender piers. Also keep in mind that taxis in this part of France are very expensive and you will pay hundreds of Euros for 4 hours. You might want to explore hiring a private car/driver/tour in advance.

There WERE about 4 -5 taxis when we got off the tender last year in June. We had a tour pre-planned, but someone in the group went over to check their rates. They were the same, if not more than the tour we had arranged. I don't remember the exact amount, but at least 90 - 100 Euro per person.

Hello from Barcelona.

 

It is very easy to go to Monaco or Nice by train. The journey time to both places is 10 to 15 minutes and costs 2 or 3 euros per person.
