Should we tour Tortola with a visit to CGB or go to the Baths?
Either choice beats what we did

which was walk around the town...Roadtown.

Quaint enough and interesting in a very laid-back West Indian way

(especially for the two of us, who live in Barbados)

..but upon reflection we should paid the guys near the pier $20 each

for an island tour in one of those open-sided jitney tour buses they operate

-we would seen a lot more, from up high too.

Oh well...next time. ;)

We took an island tour in one of the open sided tour buses from the dock and had a wonderful time, loved every minute of it and would recommend it if you want to see as much as you can.

I would go to the baths, very unique and beautiful. Jost is great too but the baths in virgin gorda is really not to be missed. It is a one of a kind!

Depends on what you're in the mood for.......................

Do a bit of snorkeling (optional), hang out on a beautiful beach, sip some painkillers (where they were invented), have some good food?

Jost Van Dyke (White's Bay) w/ Tortola Charters. Nice boat, good crew, very relaxing. Note - the Blue Star isn't fleet , takes about an hour to get there - great scenery along the way. They use a tub to get your stuff to shore nice & dry...............get about 3 - 3.5 hours on the beach. The Soggy Dollar is right there , you can use their chairs & the food is great too (along with the afore mentioned painkillers)

My cruise in 2012 stops in Tortola and St. Thomas.

Over 25 years ago, my husband and I took a trip to the USVI and BVI. We went to Brewer's Bay, The Baths, Jost Van Dyke, and St. John.

In November 2012, I found a cruise leaving from "home" to various tiny islands, including Tortola and St. Thomas. It was a dream come true for us!

Now we can't figure out what to do as we want to see The Baths, Jost Van Dyke and Trunk Bay on St. John!!!

When we are in St. Thomas we will do St. John.

But we are so torn with the option of either The Baths or Jost Van Dyke (and even Brewers Bay) when we arrive on Tortola.

Any more info about the excursion (not ship-sponsored) to Jost Van Dyke?
