how long from JFK to Penn Station?

Recommended Posts

Not nearly enough time. Even if you have carry on luggage, you have to go through customs and immigration, find a cab, and get into the city at the end of rush hour on a Wed. Many potential points of failure.

I am arriving @ JFK at 1905 --on wednesday 6/15 from Madrid. How long should it take to get to Penn Station --via cab. I have made reservations on Megabus for 20:30 can I make it??? Best guess.

If you arrive on time, your get through customs and your luggage comes out on time its barely doable. I landed at 18:35 from Paris last Wednesday and I arrived home in Brooklyn(downtown at 20;00 but that was very unusual. I would recommend a minimum of 3 hours....

If the LIRR was more reliable, I would say try the airtrain to the LIRR which will bring you directly to 34th Street. On paper, it is supposed to work. But that is not counting going through Customs.
