Kids Sail Free - I Can't Wait

Am I the only person waiting for the Kids Sail Free Sale? I think I might finally be able to coax my niece on a cruise that I can afford and because she'll only do 3 or 4 days. I can't wait - got my cruise reward in hand and just waiting for May 1.

Holiday sailings. We're looking @ Thanksgiving week. I expected Christmas/New Year's to be excluded but was hoping they wouldn't do the same to Thanksgiving.

 

And since we have kids in school, we can only cruise during school breaks...so this deal won't work for us.

One of the reasons why we cruise when we think kids will be in school is so that we don't have to be confronted with the older kids pushing all the elevator buttons, removing do not disturb signs, removing the breakfast order request, slamming doors, etc. (Yes, we encountered this on previous cruises). Younger children will more than likely be well supervised but it's the 10 and above group that worries me. Our booked cruise is one mentioned so would appreciate if someone could let me know the age at which kids no longer sail for free on these cruises.

 

It's not like we don't care for kids, we raised four and have four grandchildren that we dearly love but we know what they can be like when left on their own. Yes folks, are "perfect" grandchildren are not always perfect!

 

Hopefully, most older children will be in school when we sail and we won't have to even think about it. And the younger toddlers are just wonderful to watch -- they are so cute and full of learning.

The special is for children under 17.......I have a kid ( dd-7, so not quite at the terrible 10 n over stage lol) and totally understand where you're coming from so no flame from me.

I am another one hoping I won't get flamed. I am realy glad that my upcoming cruise isn't on the list. It is bad enough that New Jersey kids are out of school that week. Don't get me wrong. I really like kids. I have 2 of my own and grew up in a large family. However, I also know that many parents are less than observant of their kids and what they are doing and I would really like as peaceful a cruise as I can get.

I'm giving it a go and I've been booked on the Epic for what seems like forever (I think I'm working on a year now:eek: ). For me, the worst they can say is no. My TA is fabulous so I'm hoping he can swing something for me. Good luck and let us know how you fair.

Are the rates for your cabin the same as when you booked? Your TA may be able to swing it but if it involves rebooking, (which it probably will since this promo must be booked between May 1st and 7th) you will be paying the current rates for the first two people in order to get the kids free. Just make sure before they do anything, you are sure that the new total will be less than the old. You will still be paying taxes and port fees for the "free" children. You may also lose any OBC you currently have.

I am also going to call my TA tomorrow & find out if he can 'work something out for us'! He's been awesome so far. When we first booked our cruise early Feb, we were on deck 9 on the Jewel. We booked during the 'Free Upgrades for all' promo. Then mid March there was a 'Free Upgrade to Mini-Suit' promo going on for new bookings only. He got us up to deck 11 with a mini-suite no problem! So I am hoping he can work with us and getting my 4 year old free! I don't mind paying taxes & port fees, it still saves us a few hundred dollars for the ticket itself! I know that money can go towards some other things, like drinks!! LOL!!

I avoid kids sail free times. I like kids, but it's the parents who irk me when they don't properly supervise their offspring. They press the elevator buttons, take breakfast orders off the doors, and make themselves a pain in the a$$ in many ways. Think carefully before you book a cruise where kids sail free.
