My husband and I will be cruising from LA to Vancouver on Princess. Concerning San Francisco, does anyone know the dock location? Is there a Hop-on Hop-off bus available or local tours? Thanks!

There are local tours available near the pier. You can walk to Fisherman's Wharf which is about a five minute walk where there are some tours to book.

A fellow cruise critic member told me today on another thread that Princess docks at Pier 27 in San Francisco. Maybe somebody else can confirm this. Our first embarkation out of San Fran comes in October of 2012 on Princess for a full transit of the Panama Canal.

The main dock is Pier 35. Others are used if more than one ship is in port.

 

Things may change dramatically by Oct 2012, as preparations are made for America's Cup.

Pier 27 & Pier 35 are just 5 min walking distance apart.

I don't know the piers, but I live near SF and if you can walk to Fisherman's Warf, you can take the trolly to downtown and from there go anywhere you want by public transportation.
