As we will be cruising with Princess and Seattle is one destination, does anyone know where we might dock? Also, is it ok to walk on our own there or should we look for a local tour? Are there things to see there that are not within walking distance?

Pier 91 is the common dock for Princess in Seattle.

I see a trend of you doing a separate post for each of your ports. Are you aware there is a West Coast board, here:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=413

and a Alaska board, here:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=55

for your research? Many of the answers you seek are there.

Usually, it's more helpful to research first, before posting very general questions. Read through the boards here, get a guidebook, or there are many other travel websites, such as tripadvisor, Frommers, etc. You can even use google. Try typing in "Seattle attractions" and you will pull up lots of information.

Princess will be docked at Pier 91 in Seattle. I'm not sure if anything is in walking distance or not. We've hired a car service.

Don't be afraid to post, you are just learning the process.... I hope you find what you are looking for. I don't think there are lots of things to see around Pier 91 that are within walking distance.

If you search google maps or google earth you should be able to find Pier 91 and see the surrounding areas. Best bet is to book an excursion. Good luck to you...

Over the years the OP has been directed to the 'Ports of Call' and other forums multiple times:

Maybe if you ask on the Ports of Call board, you will get answers to all your questions.

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=77

I would also have a look in the PORTS OF CALL forum

I am sure all your question have been answered before

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=77

First of all, it's not in NZ, but Tasmania, Australia.

Second, this question should go to the Ports of Call board, under Australia.

Howdy Arizona traveler! 50.gif Welcome to Cruise Critic!

Thank you for your post! However' date=' you have posted on the[b'] Need Help Using The Boards? Ask Here! Forum[/b] where members find the "How to ..." type of information for using Cruise Critic's software such as thread subscriptions, avatars, signatures, countdown clocks, etc. Your post is off-topic here. 05.gif

Read the Sticky post above titled What is a ROLL CALL and how do I find mine? at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=44773. The post will tell you about the Cruise Critic Roll Call Forums and how they are the place for you to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you before the cruise.

To research for information about your ports of call click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 for the Ports of Call Forums. That's where you can research for hotels, tours, excursions, transportation etc. Your fellow Cruise Critic members post their reviews/recommendations there. In your case, you will want to click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=587 for Ports of Call - Caribbean. Look at the list of ports and click on the ones you want to research to open their forums.

Also, your fellow Roll Call members may have posted important information in your Roll Call thread. In fact, your Roll Call thread is the ONLY place on Cruise Critic where you and your fellow Roll Call members can post personal ads about sharing tours, excursions, transportation etc. with each other. A Roll Call thread has a "captive audience" since Roll Call members are sailing together! 05.gif

Click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/index.php for the list of all Cruise Critic message board forums and be sure to read all Announcement and Sticky posts at the top of the various forums for very important information or instructions.

Please feel free to use the Search this Forum feature on all Cruise Critic message board forums with your key word or words. It will help narrow down the threads you will want to read during your research. Also, you can see if your inquiry has been asked and answered before. And it probably has... many, many times! 05.gif

Click the Search this Forum feature to open the drop down menu. Type in your key word or words then click the little Go button. I suggest you do not try a search with too many or too common of key words at one time. This will sometimes overwhelm the search feature with too many threads to scan and it will time out. From time to time, you may receive an error message that says "Search function is down". PLEASE TRY AGAIN in a few moments. This message will often pop up during the busiest times of the day. Also, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=969846 for the Sticky post titled "How To Perform More Detailed and Specific Searches on the Boards".

The following information may be helpful too:

Be sure to read our FAQ, especially the Getting Started section. You will see how a new topic should be consistent with the specific forum you choose. It also gives a brief summary of the topics covered in some of the forum sections. Other important FAQ sections are Subscriptions (Receiving e-mail notification of replies to posts and threads you specify) and User Maintenance.

In the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free membership, please note the Please Browse BEFORE You Post section since many of your questions may have been asked and answered before as mentioned above.

When doing your research, be sure you are on the correct forum. After you have browsed/researched for your topic and possibly not found an answer, word your new thread title so the other members scrolling through the thread titles will know exactly the information you seek. This will help the members as they scroll through the thread titles so they can reply to you. It is best to limit each inquiry to only one topic or concerning one cruise line, port of call, etc. You will get more replies that way. Be sure to mention your cruise line, ship or sail date in your inquiry if it will help the members with their answers to you.

If you wonder what some of the icons/symbols/arrows on Cruise Critic mean, just use your mouse to hover your cursor over the item and most often a tool-tip will appear with the name or action.

I sincerely hope this information will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic!

Maybe now they'll find the answers to their questions.
