Elation cabin pics and around the ship

Recommended Posts

With Elation being now moved to New Orleans, maybe some would be interested in these pics. I had tried to describe the box in the rooms and why it is hard to walk to the window. Our cabin steward said he thinks Carnival had these boxes in all Fantasy class cabins and might remove these next cruise.

For those who couldnt picture why you cant just walk to the window. Here is my OV cabin.

Surprise!!! Its a triple (I know I should have noticed it on the deck plans). For those who didnt know there were triple OVs) and what they look like.

Elation next to the Crown Princess (which is the ship coming to Galveston!!!)

The new finished covered and a/c walkway to get off the ship in Cozumel. Before you just walked down the very long pier ... its finished.

I went to Tumlum on Carnival excursion out of Calica. It was so hot. I would do it a cooler time ...but those who went swimming afterward didnt mind the heat. Its the only ruins built on a cliff on the ocean.

You climb down these stairs to get to the ocean. Our Mayan guide told us it was lucky. Dont worry if you are wet and sandy getting back on the bus. They clean the busese nightly.

People always say how pretty Elation is. She is very colorful. There is a color and peacock theme.

Day time the panels are not lite .. just at night.

No waterworks, but it does have a slide.

Serenity area

OK this could be any ship, but its off the serenity area.

Not the best picture. I was trying to take a night picture of the color poles and this casino dealer posed for me.

This country singer was quite good.

The port day they had wires from the ceiling and lowered guys to dust around the rails. Very interesting.

sideways pic .. but you can see how pretty the atrium is on Elation. It really is a "pretty" ship.

Thanks Fire! We are looking foward to sail her, especially since it doesnt have EOF. Did you notice if it had the sushi station? It is on the new online deck plans. Did you try the basketball? What was your favorite thing you did? Were the life jackets really in the corner thing? In other fantasy class ships they are in the remodeled closet.

It did indeed have the sushi station, tucked near the entrance to the casino. I walked by the night before last when I was taking pictures and the line was at least 25 people long, so it was very popular.

There was also sushi up on the buffet at night with at least three (maybe it was four) labeled sauces for the sushi up on the buffet. So if there is a line you can get sushi up on the buffet no waiting at night.

The life vests were indeed in the box.

I took the pictures of the cabin, though they arent too exciting. I came back from Elation in Feb and said how I had to climb over the end of the bed to stand by the window and people couldnt understand what I meant. So, thats why so many of the box.

I didnt play basketball. I watched the ping pong and it was sure windy, but seemed like a little shaded from the wind where they had it. .. better than some other ships I thought.

Great pics Fire!! Brings back good memories of our cruise with grandkids in April. They had an awesome time!

And I was the one who started the thread asking why they have that stupid box in the the corner. DH and I already decided that we'd have them split the beds if we sailed Fantasy class again.

Our kids had FOUR in an OV cabin. Two adults in the king configuration plus a fold down top bunk plus a lower trundle under the top bunk. No way could I have handled 4 people in that cabin, but they had no problem and loved every minute. Ahhhh... to be young & flexible!!

I was on that cruise with you guys and we all had a great time. Your picture are great. I ate at the Sushi bar every night and it was excellent, there was a line sometimes yes but it moved really quickly. I also found it hard to walk to the window, so most of my viewing was from my kness on my bed. I had the exact same cabin as you did, but we had a rool away also for mt so. There were four of us in the room and we had ample space. All in all I think the ship was awesome.

I didnt get as good of a dinner pairing, so I decided to eat in the buffet the last night and had a watermelon dinner!! yum. A bunch of us took a whole series of pictures of the setting sun. I have about 15 of these, but here is just one taken the last night ...awww, how sad. You have to get off the ship the next morning. bittersweet last night.

beautiful pics fire.

I believe the Elation is one of the prettiest ships in the fleet. I am hoping that the next dry dock updates those hot pink closets, removes that awkward box, and replaces some of the fabric on the seats (particularly in Tiffany's and the Mikado). The fabric is looking a little faded and worn. Other than that, she is well maintained, and a very clean ship. The staff was beyond awesome.

I think her atrium might be my absolute favorite. And I really enjoy having the 2 pools. :)

I saw some rollaways in the quads across from me. I had this triple all to myself :D

I hope they remove those boxes. This is the 2nd time on Elation and crawling over my bed to see out the window!!

Great pics...thank you!:) We will be on her in 2 weeks, and we will be in a Grand Suite on Upper deck. I was in an OV cabin on the Sensation in 2006, so I know what you mean about "that box". This will be our 7th Carnival cruise and we are bringing along my SIL and BIL for their first cruise!:D

Thanks for the pictures. Made me smile also, as we have sailed 2 cruises with her. We were sorry to see her go, so we drove up to LB and sailed her sister ship, Paradise.

Well, now they are taking Paradise away, but we're booked on their sister ship, Inspiration---just waiting until she sails from the east coast.

We like these Fantasy class ships. We always book up on verandah deck. It's like your own private area up there.

Fire,

Was on the same cruise as you. Sorry, didn't get the chance to meet you as there was no meet & greet. Had a wonderful time, met some wonderful people including a Scottish lady from my home country. Was assigned late dining instead of anytime. This worked out as I had two wonderful couples and one solo cruiser like me. We were assigned table 304 which was near the window. You can see them dancing, this occurs most nights.

This is my first cruise on Carnival and I will do it again. Met some wonderful people including some who knew a person that I work with at work.

Went to the "The Money Bar" in Cozumel and had a wonderful time. Shared the cab with another couple who had a wonderful time. This place is about 2 miles from the boat and is a good place for snorkeling and is away from the crowds.

I wonder if we crossed paths and just didnt know. I wore my blue cruise critic waist patch, and my layarn said cruise critic on it too.

Im sorry we didnt meet either. I had early dinner.

Thank you, Fire. I never had an interest in the Elation but after seeing your photos, I would consider her. You also answered a question that I have had in my mind. My first ship was the Paradise and at the time I didn't know that you could request that the beds be put together to make a queen. I wondered what my room would have looked like if I knew to request that.

Not me.. but they took pictures of me. Crown Princess was in dock with us and I think these people were on that ship and we spent quite a while talking and having a good time. I always seem to wind up talking to people on other ships docked with us. The other times lately it was Thomson Dream .. and I was talking to a lady from the UK in cozumel and she was talking about some foreign person next door to her cabin and I was trying not to smile.

Actually the other posters pictures they added to this thread are clearly better than mine.. Im not much on cameras, just take basic pictures.
