RNPJN Posted May 12, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2011 :( Union Plus Sorry, Norwegian Cruise Line is no longer participating in this program.
CruisinMaterial Posted May 27, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2011 I just found this out today and was heartbroken by it. It helped when cruising alone to offset the 200% (except on the studio cabins on Norwegian Epic). I do hope NCL brings it back sometime soon! :)
Ms belp Posted May 28, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2011 It seems like they have done away with discounts they offered in the past. We aren't happy either. RCCL is offering a cruise. They have ice rinks, mini golf, and free style dining. Might be time to look around at other cruise lines.
Ms belp Posted May 28, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Ours was the military discount. Don't like that at all.
rvsullivan Posted May 28, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Military and AARP discounts are still offered.
highmath Posted May 28, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Military and AARP discounts are still offered. This, I can confirm about military discounts. All military discounts offered at this time are sailing in 2012.
CruisinMaterial Posted May 28, 2011 #7 Share Posted May 28, 2011 It seems like they have done away with discounts they offered in the past. We aren't happy either. RCCL is offering a cruise. They have ice rinks, mini golf, and free style dining. Might be time to look around at other cruise lines. RCCL can't even get a charter cruise right for a dance party on their biggest ships, I wouldn't trust their regular cruises to have any decent nightlife either. I know I'll stick with NCL but the discounts will be missed. :(
CruisinMaterial Posted May 28, 2011 #8 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Military and AARP discounts are still offered. Yes, AARP is still offered. The only thing that went was the Union Plus discount. I know AARP is still good because mom qualified for it. :D
4774Papa Posted May 28, 2011 #9 Share Posted May 28, 2011 I got the military discount on an Epic cruise in the Med for 2012.

98Charlie Posted May 28, 2011 #11 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Aren't the discounts (military, senior, etc.) applied to "Select Sailings" not every sailing? It would seem to be one way to help fill slow selling ships/weeks. Charlie
CP50 Posted May 28, 2011 #12 Share Posted May 28, 2011 DH got the military discount for our Spirit cruise April 2013, so it possibly may be for selected cruises.

Brighton Line Posted May 30, 2011 #16 Share Posted May 30, 2011 Funny, I asked about this when I booked our next one last month and was told it wasn't available. Just like the Union discount, AARP could be capacity controlled. Union discount was only on certain sailings and then it had a huge range.
CruisinMaterial Posted May 30, 2011 #17 Share Posted May 30, 2011 Just like the Union discount, AARP could be capacity controlled. Union discount was only on certain sailings and then it had a huge range. I did notice the AARP discount was only available on select sailings. It was on some but not all the sailings I was looking at in the future. It must depend on if the bookings are "lighter" than some pre-set quota they have.
