Jonah315 Posted September 3, 2011 #601 Share Posted September 3, 2011 We are sailing on EOS from Canada on March 9, 2012 and I have a question about return flights. I am looking at direct flights to Halifax and there is one from EWR at 12:30 that I would love to make. I don't want to cut it close but seem to recall our last time on EOS we were off and back to our hotel before the Mall across the street even opened. The next flight is not until much later in the day but again, I don't want to be silly. So, can I make a flight out of EWR at 12:30 - an International Flight? I appreciate thoughts. Thanks. terrirus Posted September 4, 2011 #602 Share Posted September 4, 2011 they will probably show it in the sports bar (weekend warrior..) , possibly on TVs in guest rooms..and MAYBE in the theatre but i am not sure about that...i know on =X= Summit for the Superbowl they had a HUGE party...lots of fun....(not that it pertains to your question....but it was fun!) Thanks for getting back to me, I hope they have it in the sports bar or theater, it is fun to watch it with other people. thanks :)
Guest maddycat Posted September 4, 2011 #603 Share Posted September 4, 2011 We will be sailing on EOS in Jan 2012, was wondering where is recommended to watch the NFL championship game. In the past we have been on ships where they have the movies under the stars, but was hoping they would be playing this somewhere other than our rooms. Has anyone encountered the games on the EOS? Thanks  We were on the Explorer two years ago when the Yankees were playing the Phillies in the World Series. Needless to say, their were many passengers from NY, NJ and PA on board. The games were shown on a large screen TV which was set up in the Maharaji Lounge. Chips and salsa was served. Bar service was available.

Big sports events are really a LOT of fun on ships..the Superbowl party on Summit was great...the crew decorated each side of the theatre in each teams' colors, they had a GREAT free buffet with good "junk food" (roast beef/turkey carving stations for sammies, all kinds of snacks, sliders, "hot dogs en croute..." etc....and they had a PRE GAME in the casino with MORE food......I would say at least half the ship slipped dinner and went to the game! So...my advice....if you're planning on a cruise during the WS, SB or whatever big sports event happens..GO!! REALLY fun!!

Lawnquilt Posted September 5, 2011 #608 Share Posted September 5, 2011 Hi there We're just back from our 4 day Majesty of the Seas cruise, which brought us up to Diamond status. We are sailing Dec 11-23 on EOS (6th time on EOS). What can we now expect as Diamond guests? We are very excited to have finally achieved this level and are looking forward to our next cruise. F-4Wife Posted September 5, 2011 #609 Share Posted September 5, 2011 Glad to hear someone else has used them and been satisfied. I took a chance in Feb and it worked out well. If you can get a group of at least 4 people together, it's a great deal at $10/pp from an airport hotel to the pier, particularly since many folks travel in pairs. This is my first reply to a post, so I hope I've done it correctly. My question is concerning Independent Driver. I have a reservation with them for the 15 September sailing of the EOS from Country Inn & Suites to the pier. It's just my husband and myself. If there is anyone else at the Country Inn & Suites also going that morning, will we automatically receive the $10 PP rate, or do we specifically have to indicate on our reservation that there will be four people? I hope this question makes sense.

Linda & Allan Manalapan, NJ We were diamond for the first time on our last EOS cruise. The extra perks were really nice. There will be a small basket in your cabin with snacks, such as trail mix and dried fruit. Make sure you go to the Crown and Anchor section of Royal's website to select your choice of beverage that will come with it, soda, water or juice. We also got a platter of chocolate covered strawberries one night. You can have breakfast in a separate section of the MDR every morning. There you can get free specialty coffees. In the evening you can go to the diamond lounge for free wine, beer, or champagne, or 25% off other drinks. When we were there, it was located in the 19th Hole lounge on deck 14. All the info about what is available should be in a letter in your cabin when you board. We were also supposed to get an invite to a behind-the scenes tour, but due to a housekeeping error we got the invite too late.To make up for it, we were given Royal Caribbean tote bags. I used mine all summer long to take to the pool. I'm hoping to get the tour on our upcoming cruise next week. Enjoy

Loralie Posted September 10, 2011 #615 Share Posted September 10, 2011 I will be on the Explorer on 4/12/12 with my DH and our 2 teen boys. The boys have a few questions. 1- do they have brownies for free? 2- do they have cupcakes for free or for a fee? (I know they do not have the cupcake store on EOS) 3- when you watch a movie in the screening room, do they have popcorn & snacks or drinks to eat during the movie? TIA, loralie

Mom.to.2 Posted September 12, 2011 #621 Share Posted September 12, 2011 Hey all just wondering if anyone can go on the slide? Or is there some kind of restriction? I don't think the slide would appeal to the over 10 years old crowd. It's really small. That being said, I was allowed on the slide with DD (4 yrs) on my lap. She was too short to go on by herself. This was in 4/11.
