bucahenze Posted June 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2011 Does anybody know what all is listed on the RCCL seapass? Espcecially DOB? I am wondering how the security guards at the club are able to tell if you are underage. Are they a different color if you are a minor?

I can't recall what the difference is, but yes, there is something about the card that clearly indicates that the person is underage.
soccernut1984 Posted June 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2011 If my memory serves me right, they print a "code" on the bottom of the seapass, along with using one that is printed with the outline of a group of kids at the bottom. We were on Oasis in March and my cousin, who is 20, had 'M20' printed on the bottom on her card. So, with those two differences, it is pretty easy to tell a minor from an adult seapass. antas901 Posted June 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2011 I haven't been on a ship in a while, but the last time we sailed all of the minors in our group had holes punched in their SeaPass cards indicating that they were underage. I hope that helps.
cruiseguy1016 Posted June 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted June 9, 2011 I think the only information that shows up when they scan your Sea Pass is your name and cabin number. Minors will have a hole punched in their card.
superduper123 Posted June 9, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 9, 2011 My last cruise was in Feb and I believe my daughter's card had a hole punch in it to indicate she was under 21 and not able to purchase alcohol. Although as far as I know she went into all the dance clubs. She is 19.
akcruz Posted June 9, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 9, 2011 From our experience, anyone under 21 will have a different looking sea pass (it has "shadows" of people on it) as well as holes punched into the card. If you are under 18 you have 2 holes, if you are 18 - 20 it will have 1 hole. As for having a DOB on it, never saw that. It usually shows part of your cabin number, your folio number and information about your dining assignments. Other than that the rest of the info is the same as everyone else on your sailing. I am wondering how the security guards at the club are able to tell if you are underage. Are they a different color if you are a minor? I was on the FOS last week. In the Casino I gave them my card to get some cash and after she processed it she asked me if my birthday was yesterday and after I said yes she said "Happy Birthday"

I am wondering how the security guards at the club are able to tell if you are underage. Are they a different color if you are a minor? As others pointed out, there are holes punched in your card and/or a different design on the card if you are underage. Further, when your card is scanned at the nightclub upon entry, your photo will appear on the screen along with an indication of whether or not you are a minor. The photo check prevents you from lifting mommy or daddy's seapass to get in.
TravelerThom Posted June 9, 2011 #10 Share Posted June 9, 2011 Does anybody know what all is listed on the RCCL seapass?...Looking at our last RCI SeaPass, it lists:Name of Ship [Oasis] Date of Sailing Name of passenger Muster Station Dining Room name and deck Dining Seating time Table # Folio # Photo Location # [this would appear only on those ships that have facial recognition systems] the last 3 digits of our cabin number [on previous cruises these 3 digits have been preceded by the room steward's station number, yielding the complete cabin number IF you know the stewards' codes (highly unlikely that anyone but ship personnel know these codes) - I don't see that code on this Oasis SeaPass, but it may be tied into the photo location #] C&A tier level Full [not Junior] Suites are color coded Gold to allow priority access to a number of venues. Not having been under 21 for a few:rolleyes::eek: years, I can not specifically answer your question about minors, but I thought it was by hole punches as previously mentioned. I don't think there is any more info on the magnetic strip and/or bar code than listed above, BUT there is LOTS more info stored in the ship's central computer that can be pulled up when your card is scanned. Included in this computer stored info is your photo, and I would certainly assume birthday, etc. On ships with enhanced computer systems [Oasis, Allure] a quick scan of your bar code with a wireless scanner will tell if you have a reservation to that particular show or if your waivers [such as for rock climbing] are completed and on file in the central computer. Sequim88 Posted June 9, 2011 #11 Share Posted June 9, 2011 after she processed it she asked me if my birthday was yesterday Wouldn't have been on the card but rather on the computer screen they used to process the transaction. I suspect there is quite a bit of "inteligence" available to them any time they scan the card. CRM systems are very popular in the hospitality industry. Rare printingchick Posted June 9, 2011 #12 Share Posted June 9, 2011 If you are under 21, but over 18, there will be ONE hole punched in your card. You will be able to go into the club and the casino, but you will NOT be able to purchase alcohol. If you are under 18, you will have TWO holes punched in your card. You will not be able to go into the casino or the night club and you will not be able to order alcohol. The under 18 curfew will also apply to you.
