5ofusnow Posted June 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2011 The new Harry Potter movie comes out in the US while we will be vacationing in the UK. Since there are a few die hard fans in our family we thought that it would be really cool to see the movie while we are there. Does anyone know how I would go about finding out if it will be out then and where we could see it? Hopefully, it will be as simple as looking at the movie listings near our hotel but would that information be online?
sddsddean Posted June 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2011 Nearly all cinema's in the UK have their schedule online. Either wait until you get to your hotel and ask the staff to help you out, or do a google search for the area you are staying. Simon
newport dave Posted June 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2011 I think it's released in the UK on the 15th July. All cinemas will be showing it, you will probably need to book tickets online before hand though. Below are links to the major cinema chains in the UK, you should be able to find cinema locations and when releases are and if you can order tickets to pickup at the cinema. http://www.odeon.co.uk/ http://www.showcasecinemas.co.uk/ http://www.cineworld.co.uk/ http://new.myvue.com/
Globaliser Posted June 11, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2011 I think it's released in the UK on the 15th July. This is the date that IMDb has. It's also being confirmed by Odeon, which is running a Harry Potter season for the real die-hard fans. For a real treat, I would strongly recommend booking to see this at the Odeon Leicester Square, and paying for top price tickets. This is the biggest cinema in Europe, IIRC, seating almost 1,700 people. It's not cheap, but it's an experience you'll never forget - particularly if you get tickets for a show which will be packed with fans (eg the main Saturday evening show of the first weekend). Make sure you don't accidentally get tickets for one of the small multiplex screens in the next door Mezzanine.

Thanks for that didn't realise London premiere was a week earlier to the rest of the UK.
Globaliser Posted June 13, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 13, 2011 Thanks for that didn't realise London premiere was a week earlier to the rest of the UK.I very much suspect it'll just be the stars-and-red-carpet premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square, with no further showings until the opening date (unless the distributor decides to change that from the current plan, which it can do). 5ofusnow Posted August 11, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted August 11, 2011 We didn't get to see the movie while we were in London, unfortunately.:( However, we did visit a few Harry Potter sights throughout the UK. Then we went to see the movie on our first day home, recovery day. We thought that it was really cool that we spotted our hotel in the movie.:D
