Skagway walking from Railroad dock-Princess

I am pretty sure Princess uses the railroad dock in Skagway. How much of a walk into town is it from this dock? Is there a tram/shuttle from dock to town? How much approximately if there is one?

We are going on the White Pass train in the afternoon,but wanted to walk around town in the morning and possibly after we get off the train before boarding the ship for a 6pm departure.

WHen we were there 2 weeks ago the Princess ship was the closest one to town. It was a very easy walk to the shops. There is also a shuttle that is offered by a local company for $2.00 per person. They are vans with signs in them. Easy to find.

With no mobility limitations, from the RR dock, farthest back, it's a 10 minute walk. There is the SMART bus, which is a couple dollars if needed. Pick up is at the end of the dock.

It's an easy, level walk from the railroad dock into town, about 10-15 minutes walking at a leisurely pace.

If you book the White Pass train ride yourself, you board it at the train station, located right at the entrance to the town.

But if you book it through the cruise line (which typically costs more) you would need to go back to the ship dock to board your train there.
