B_Mc Posted June 18, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2011 Everybody gets charged. Sometimes it is a full 2nd or 3rd person, sometimes it is slightly less, but with taxes on top. It varies quite a bit between lines from what I gather. FWIW, our 10 month old was charged a small cruise fare, plus full taxes as the 3rd person in our cabin. reallyitsmema Posted June 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2011 Children can start cruising with RCL at 6 months on some itineraries, 12 months on others. There is always a charge for kids. The rate for the 3/4 passenger in a cabin is typically lower though.
Mom.to.2 Posted June 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2011 Royal Caribbean charges the same fare for children as adults, regardless of age. A person is a person is a person. If your child/ren are in your cabin, they're charged as 3rd & 4th passengers (which is discounted from 1st & 2nd passengers.) If you choose to get two connecting rooms, the children are charged as 1st & 2nd passengers, same price you're paying for yourself and spouse. cruisenfever Posted June 20, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 20, 2011 Is there a a charge for childeren under a certain age? What age do cruise lines generally charge children cruise passage? My suggestion to you would be to do a dummy booking on the RCI website. When you enter in the number of guests it will ask you for how many adults and how many children. Once you select an itinerary and cabin category it will tell you how much for each adult and the cost for the 3rd and 4th person which will be your children. Prices for your children will vary depending on the ship/itinerary/sailing date/cabin category.
LovesCruising Posted June 20, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2011 Yup paid 3rd passenger fare for 6 month old and this past year paid 749 each for 4 yr old and 2 yr old (GS). They got more of their moneys worth this time than the 6 month old did - LOL!
cb at sea Posted June 20, 2011 #8 Share Posted June 20, 2011 Some cruiselines, although not RCI, do have either discounted or free children's rates....you should talk to a TA and have them check that out for you.
