There is oodles of shopping right around the cruiseport. Main street shopping or bazaar. All walkable. Bazaar vendors are very aggressive; just keep walking, don't make eye contact and keep saying no thanks. If you are wearing a hat or T shirt that identifies where you are from, I can assure you every vendor in the bazaar has a cousin or uncle living next door to you back home.

Keep walking past the signs saying 'bazaar' IE the first 3 or 4 pedestrianised streets on the right as you leave the port. There is an old fort ahead of you, walk just to the right of it and you get into the main town. The same goods on sale there as the bazaar but much less hassle. Have fun !

Agree that in this port and other parts of Turkey that some of the sales people do get fairly "aggressive" and "creative" with their pitches, hustle, etc. Be careful, as noted, to walk on, say "no thanks" and keep moving if you're not interested. If you are "weak" and/or get sucked in, they will keep going on and on. It can be fun to hear some of the pitches.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
