suspaul Posted July 18, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2011 Hi. We'll be going to Seattle in September for an Alaskan cruise, could anyone help with the approximate cost for a taxi from a downtown hotel to Pier 91, from one of the SeaTac hotels to Pier 91 and lastly from the Pier 91 back to SeaTac airport for our flight home? Also, if anyone knows of a shuttle type service with good rates I'd love to know which ones. We haven't decided if it's better to stay in town or just near the airport for our short night before the cruise. Thanks so much for any replies. mapleleaves Posted July 18, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2011 If you look in the Seattle FAQ STICKY near the top of the page you'll find info on taxis and towncars. They're close in cost; around $45 to downtown, $55 to the pier. If you go to shuttleexpress.com you can read about their Airporter Service which is $15pp each way to several downtown hotels. Taxi from downtown to the pier will be around $15. I'd suggest staying downtown. You'll have time to visit the Pike Place Market in the morning before you check out of your hotel. http://www.biddingtraveler.com/priceline-winning-bids-hotel-list-seattle If you look back a page or 2 there was a thread called Seattle Limo that had current limo/towncar fares

Assateague Island Princes Posted July 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2011 Try www.seattleexpress. We've used this shuttle service several times - both from our hotel near Seatac to Pier 91, and back to the airport after our cruise from Pier 91. The cost is $12 per person. We've found the drivers to be professional and courteous, and the vans are very clean and roomy. Matt is wonderful to deal with, and always answers emails promptly. Would highly recommend. Rare 4cats4me Posted July 18, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2011 The cab fare was $12.25 from the Grand Hyatt, a downtown hotel, to Pier 91, plus tip. We gave the driver $15. The cab fare from Pier 91 to the airport two days ago was $46.25 not including tip. It took only 25 minutes from Pier 91 to Sea-Tac. We were the first group to disembark the ship at 8:10 and were in the cab at 8:25. There were several taxis available. There were shuttle companies at Pier 91 vying for our business one company quoted us $28 for both to Sea-Tac but we didn't want to waste time waiting for the shuttle van to fill up. Shuttle Express was also at Pier 91. They had a desk set up as soon as you left the terminal upon leaving Customs. Transfers from our cruise ship would have cost $24 per person and estimate of time was at least 45 minutes. If you're in no rush then you have many options available to you. If you have an early flight like we did then a taxi might be the most efficient option.

Rare 4cats4me Posted July 19, 2011 #7 Share Posted July 19, 2011 Can I ask did you do self-debarkation? Was it on Princess? Thanks! Carrie Yes, self-disembarkation, Princess. We were in group 200, originally supposed to debark at 7:45, as well as group 100 and the first EZ Check group, which encompassed flights between 11:35 a.m. and 11:59 a.m., but we were delayed until about 8:10, waited in line 5 minutes, got through customs in 5 to 10 more minutes and caught a cab immediately. It's my understanding from reading other's reviews that it becomes somewhat of a madhouse with the later disembarkers. We had NO trouble procuring transportation to the airport -- :)

treasure4two Posted July 20, 2011 #9 Share Posted July 20, 2011 We used A Plus Town Car(206-331-1941) both ways and they were great! We had to change pick up time to earlier time both ways and with last minute calls, they graciously worked with us. $40 from airport to hotel near Pike's Market and $55 from Pier 91 to airport-both about the cost of a cab plus in a more lux manner
lyttleone1977 Posted July 21, 2011 #10 Share Posted July 21, 2011 We came in really late the night before our Alaskan cruise. We choose to stay out near the airport, was about 80 a night, and they had shuttle service to Pier 91 for about 25 pp. If we were to come in at the same way, I'd do it again in a heart beat. It also included free shuttle to the hotel.
