Thinking about utilizing a day pass. Has anyone ever stayed here or visited for a day? Wondering if it is worth the money even thou you have no pool access.

How much is the day pass? There are quite a few tours that spend time on Jalousie Beach. We are doing the Jalousie Beach Break with Spencer Ambrose in October. $80 per person, includes a creole lunch, drinks, boatride along the coast to get to the beach, with a snorkel stop too.

From what I have read about Spencer Ambrose, with that tour you only have access to a very small part of the beach. We are beach gals, and only want to spend the day in the sun, the boatride and snorkle are of no interest to us.

The beach is a public beach, so you have access to all of it however you get there.

 

Basically, you are paying to rent a sunbed on the beach with this daypass. I believe you can pay for these individually if you want or there are some free ones if you are lucky enough to find an empty one.

We visited this beach recently on an organised tour. The beach is public but the road access is restricted so local tour companies take people in by boat for approx 1 hour. Whilst the beach is public we were told we had to stay on one side - the less plush side. The beach and snorkelling are excellent.

I personally wouldnt use spencer ambrose again....what a mess that was. Get a private taxi to take you where ever you choose to go. We have visted a few beaches on that island and Anse Chestanet was by far our fav beach. black sand...beautiful waters, good food and no crowds!

You do not have to stay on one side. This is a subject frequently discussed on this board! The point is that the free sunbeds are on one side, but you can sit on your towel anywhere you like on the beach. Alternatively you can pay to use the resort's sunbeds. But the whole beach is public.

It's been 3 years since staying for a week on St Lucia but we drove over to Jalousie and spent the day. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The snokeling next to the Pitons was fun and beautiful.

Of course we were just one couple in the off season and we didn't have any problem using the pool and walking the whole resort.

You can call or email the hotel for a day pass. Yes, there is a beachside restaurant and also the Great Room if you want a full meal for lunch.

Yes, the day pass includes a food credit at the beachside restaurant.

Basically, you are paying $50US per person for a lounger and a $25US food credit. The entire beach is public, you can put your towel down anywhere. They do offer some free loungers to one side of the beach - but by no means do you have to use them - again, you can put your towel down anywhere, under any tree. Also, the beach restaurant is public - you can use it whether you are a guest or not. You can use the bar there also - you won't get beach service, you have to walk over and get your drinks yourself. You can also rent snorkeling equipment from their shop if you want to snorkel - can't remember the price though.

In my opinion, the "day pass" is such a joke for Jalousie as you can't actually use their facilities as you would at and All-Inclusive resort and the beach restaurant will run you more than the "credit" you are buying (is it really a "credit" if you bought it?). In my opinion, save the $50 pp and just put your towel down on the beach - most likely you will be in the ocean or at the bar more than you would be on a lounger anyways! Besides, you can just rent the loungers if you decide to go that way - or try to get there early enough for one of the free ones.

Just remember - all beaches in St. Lucia are PUBLIC!!! No one can keep you off any stretch of beach, however their property is theirs - loungers, huts, etc. Those are usually for rent.

So go on down, take a water taxi over from Soufriere town for the most amazing views and enjoy your day on the beach!
