Silver Shadow - where does it dock in Bangkok?

I'll be on the Silver Shadow sailing from Hong Kong to Singapore, with an overnight in Bangkok. Do any of you know where Silver Shadow docks there? Is it Laem Chabang, or can she get closer? I'm hoping to see Bangkok at night, but if it's Laem Chabang, I may have to leave the ship and stay in a hotel for the night to make that happen. I understand Laem Chabang is about 1.5-2.0 hour drive from Bangkok. Is that true??

The port information on the website suggests the ships dock at Klong Toey.

We were on the Azamara Quest last year and we docked next to one of the Silverseas ships in Klong Toey.

We sailed on the same itinerary but on the Whisper in 2010. The ship docked in Klong Tooey. I loved Bangkok. One of my favourite ports in Asia. Please ensure you negotiate your taxis fare before you leave the port. Try cocktails on top of the Banyan Tree Hotel. The view is spectacular.

Thanks, all. I want to see Bangkok at night, but am not interested in the ONE evening option Silversea has on offer, so am trying to make plans for seeing the city at night on my own. If anyone has suggestions (thanks, Scott, for the Banyan Tree suggestion!), I am all ears.

Although we didn't use them, there is apparently a company called Tours with Tong who came highly recommended on the Azamara boards. Sorry but I am not clever enough to put in a link but try searching there. We used a private guide who our travel agent suggested. I personally do not like the ships tours and so we always pre-book privately.
