beverland Posted July 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2011 Doing a back-to-back cruise on Monarch this fall. Just wondering about the logistics on turn-a-round day. I've done a back to back on Freedom and the concierge took care of us that day. Had a special lounge reserved, took us through customs, etc. Monarch doesn't have a concierge. Can someone who's done this recently give me the logistics? Also, any experience with D+ amenities on Monarch? Lounge, breakfast, etc? Thanks so much for the info! Can someone who's done this recently give me the logistics? We met at Guest Relations on Deck 4 about 9:15. The Guest Relations manager escorted us off the ship (swiped out on the Binger), went through Customs, manager gave us our new Sea Passes and we returned to the ship through the Binger. Also, any experience with D+ amenities on Monarch? Lounge, breakfast, etc? There is the Diamond Nightly Event in the Viking Crown that starts at 5:00 PM. Say Hi to Desmond for us! There is a Diamond area in the MDR for Breakfast (I believe on Deck 3 Center Rear). We also were invited to a special buffet on Coco Cay which was quite nice. The C&A Welcome Back reception was held in the Circuit Lounge. Thanks so much for the info! Hope this helps! Bon Voyage.

The only thing I want to add is that you may also get invited to some behind the scenes tours, usually on the 4 day itinerary.

Scotty G Posted July 27, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2011 What is the special buffet on Coco Cay? I will be on the Monarch 4 nt next month... It was by written invitation (I believe from the Captain) and was held at a new deck by the Wacky Seagull Jr. (guessing at the name). It included buffet items and drinks (wine, champagne, mimosas and others). May have been for D+ and Suite guests. It was very windy and poorly attended other than ship's officers. We liked it and thank them for improving amenities. Love Monarch and the great crew!!!!

Sounds like a good time. The Monarch crew always seem to find another way to improve their service.

It was a nice way to chat for a bit before hitting the beach

Interesting...if they still are doing this next month it might be worth skipping the cabanette for $35 just to have a private lunch and go to this instead...assuming of course you don't have to be super super special D+ to get invited...:)

No need to miss lunch for the snack just gets you ready for it. You can easily do both if the weather is good. We were D+ but didn't ask what the criteria was.
