FredandErincruise Posted August 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2011 Has anyone been on a cruise this summer who could tell me if NCL is charging a fuel surcharge? They always warn us that it may happen, but we haven't been charged yet for one. Any info would be appreciated :). We leave this Sunday on the GEM! Yay!!! Can't wait! CruisinMaterial Posted August 5, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 5, 2011 No fuel surcharge but the prices have been running higher lately for base cruise fares and one can only ponder if that is due to the higher fuel/food costs. Either way, no "official" surcharge right now! Happy cruising! :)

They always warn us that it may happen, but we haven't been charged yet for one. Any info would be appreciated :). We leave this Sunday on the GEM! Yay!!! Can't wait! Even when it went to about $110.00 a barrell a couple of months ago, NCL and the other lines did you bring the surcharge back. They tell us this just in case they feel the ned to add it, we are aware it could happen. I don't think if you are leaving tomorrow you have anything to worry about. Have a greata and sur charge free cruise. Nita

GORDONCHICK Posted August 6, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 6, 2011 All of the lines have built it into their fares at this point. But you can bet if fuel does a big drop, your fares won't! And Hamrag - NCL is about the same on the nickel & dime stuff as the others. You DO have the option on almost all of it to just say no...
