Allure and Wheelchair accessibility

We have cruised Carnival many times and RCI Navigator 7 years ago which we loved. We are looking at Allure for next September. Our adult son is an amputee and in a wheelchair but does have a prosthetic leg which he can use for short periods. Can anyone on these boards give us some tips as to their experience getting around the ship and if the accessible cabins were satisfactory. The specs on the accessible cabins looks great. Any comments on accessiblity would be helpful.

Honestly, the ship is so big, you will have absolutely no problems! The only time there's some crowding is on the Promenade during the street party and the parades. If you're looking for a way to go from one end of the ship to the other, there's many routes. The stateroom hallways, the Royal Promenade, Central Park, or my favorite, and most scenic route, the top pool deck. The ship also has 12 elevators in the front and 12 in the back and they didn't get crowded one bit during our sailing, except when boarding the ship at the ports. You will have no problems.

We were on the Allure in April and were looking to book a family ocean view. They assigned us the HC cabin 11158 and it was giant! We peeked into the regular family ocean view cabin next door and the size difference was amazing.

We were on Oasis (Allure's Big Sister) in January and had an accessible balcony on deck 10. DW uses a scooter and had no problem at all. In the cabin or anywhere on the ship. Enjoy your cruise.

RCCL's HC cabins are great ! I have MS and travel with a scooter.

Suggestion : Though the shower does have a fold down seat you might want to consider asking for a shower chair. I personally find a shower chair to be safer and easier to use than the fold down shower bench. You can request for free by contacting the Special Needs Department
