nyfeds Posted August 18, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2011 I know that Riviera has self-serve washers and dryers. Are they free of charge and is detergent included? At what point are excursions offered and when can they be booked? Can on-board credits be used for excursions? Thank you.

Benita Posted August 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2011 We were just on the Marina. On every passenger deck, towards the front of the ship, there is a laundry room. There are 3 washers and 3 dryers in each room, an ironing board and iron, as well as a couch and TV. It was $2 in quarters for each machine. There was free detergent which you put in the machine yourself. I assume the situation on the Riviera will be similar. nyfeds Posted August 18, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Thanks for the responses. Benita, I appreciate you posting the photo. If one has to be stuck doing laundry, at least the atmosphere is a tad "cozy." Now, if only there were a coffee bar there :) I hope you enjoyed your cruise. Benita Posted August 18, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Thanks for the responses. Benita, I appreciate you posting the photo. If one has to be stuck doing laundry, at least the atmosphere is a tad "cozy." Now, if only there were a coffee bar there :) I hope you enjoyed your cruise. We were in a PH level cabin, with the Executive Lounge down the hallway, so I did run over and make a latte while we waited. With such a handsome husband, how could a cruise be bad? I am hoping the good cruise karma holds over to our Regatta cruise next week that Oceania changed to mainly a cruise at sea while maintenance is done on our dime. There are only a few washing machines for the whole ship on the Regatta, so we will have to think of other things to do- LOL.
Rare PaulMCO Posted August 18, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 18, 2011 My understanding is that the washing machines on the R class ships are all broken. They needed the parts to fix the generators. :D

nyfeds Posted August 18, 2011 Author #9 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Sounds like something done on Regent's Voyager, which has experienced numerous woes! Hopefully, no issues on Riviera. I hope your next cruise is a great one!
wripro Posted August 19, 2011 #10 Share Posted August 19, 2011 If the washers are broken it's a great excuse to send the laundry out for the ship to do.
