slomotion Posted August 31, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2011 We are yet to set foot on our ship and already HAL is treating us as if we have reserved the Penthouse Verandah Suite. (We haven't) Each phone call has been answered by a very polite and savvy HAL Staffer. (Yeah HAL !!) Questions about the reservations, our flights, room amenities etc. have all been responded to by people who know the business, know HAL, and real care about us. We are experienced travelers and cruisers (Crystal, Celebrity, Princess, (RCI) and this will be our first and I'm sure NOT the last with HAL. So far, they are top-notch and we've not yet set sail. A BIG round of applause from us for HAL

Rare kazu Posted September 1, 2011 #10 Share Posted September 1, 2011 Have a great cruise Slomo - HAL staff will impress you far more than the telephone people - at least that's been my experience - and a very good thing ;) Staff on HAL are very, very special IMO:D
tcook052 Posted September 1, 2011 #11 Share Posted September 1, 2011 It is a verandah Good. HAL's verandah cabins are spacious and well laid out and I very much enjoyed a similiar stateroom on Oosterdam's sister Vista class ship the Zuiderdam. Happy sails! :)
jschm27 Posted September 1, 2011 #12 Share Posted September 1, 2011 We just got off WESTERDAM. It was my DMIL's first cruise. She was very impressed with the service she received onboard. She uses a walker and she couldn't take a few steps away from the Lido before a steward was helping her by carrying her plate. She had one carry her plate all the way to the Crow's Nest on one occasion and to our stateroom on another. Every crew member we passed greeted us and smiled :) John
