Crazymasons Posted December 4, 2013 #4279 Share Posted December 4, 2013 I have about 15+ of these and I can be comfortable in the casino with the mini and leggings. If I bring the skirts I can wear them during the day, negating the need for day dress, evening dress and jeans for the casino Skirt, leggings, cami, cardi WONDERFUL thinking! And looks so cute! LiveWell Posted December 5, 2013 #4282 Share Posted December 5, 2013 This Christmas will be our first AZ cruise. We like to dress up on X and RC on special evenings.I know AZ is smart casual and I'm aware of what that means of course, but I couldn't pass up a very pretty lacy knee length cocktail dress. Would that be out of place at Christmas eve dinner? Too dressy? Or should I just stick with a sparkly top? I'm the shy type and don't want to stand out in the wrong way.:o I've attached a photo from google. Your red dress is gorgeous!!
burm Posted December 5, 2013 #4283 Share Posted December 5, 2013 On my recent Azamara cruise (my first on Az) there were quite a number of folks dressed up in cocktail-type attire each evening. Because of the "smart casual" dress code there was of course a wide variety of levels of dressiness...but I think you would not be at all out of place. And the dress is gorgeous! :) By all means wear the dress. You will not be the only one who wants to look special on Christmas Eve.
webecruzin2 Posted December 5, 2013 #4284 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Thank you all for your votes of confidence! All I keep hearing about is how casual the dress code is on AZ, so I wasn't quite sure. Now I can't wait to wear it! :)

iheartbda Posted December 7, 2013 #4289 Share Posted December 7, 2013 (edited) It's not cruise wear but I got this Ralph Lauren sweater dress in the style on the left but the color of the right. I wear it with matching plum colored tights and black knee high boots or with black tights and these booties. styxfire Posted December 7, 2013 #4291 Share Posted December 7, 2013 Hello Ladies, as promised, I'm posting all the dresses I wore during my Thanksgiving cruise one the Allure. The dress I wore for the first formal night, this one I ordered on the internet I look forward to your posts, you have a great sense of style, and I really enjoy the VARIETY of colors and styles you choose... you are lucky that you look great in many things. But I just HAD to re-post this pic of you in the teal formal, because it is so stunning on you. This is truly a winning look for you! So elegant, so beautiful... I'm so jealous :)

Rare Scrapnana Posted December 7, 2013 #4294 Share Posted December 7, 2013 Return right? DH LOVES this, but me.......Thoughts? I love the colors, the neckline, the draped bodice, and the small pleats but don't know if I could stand an asymmetrical skirt. I think I would be pulling down or yanking up parts all the time. Pushka Posted December 7, 2013 #4295 Share Posted December 7, 2013 I like asymmetrical hems and the colours are lovely. I just think it looks a bit bulky in the front but it could just be the angle of the photo. That formal dress in teal is beautiful and suits you so much. hotcarib Posted December 7, 2013 #4296 Share Posted December 7, 2013 Thanks ladies, I really like the dress when I walk past the mirror and catch a glimpse but face to face (much as I adore boho) it just seems off:confused: Still and all I may keep it as DH likes it so much~probably all comes down to room in the suitcases. This is our longest (11 nights) cruise and packing is proving vexing.
lovestx Posted December 7, 2013 #4297 Share Posted December 7, 2013 Hotcarib, I like the dress on you. I think the shoes are throwing it off. Too dressy for the style of dress for me....

I thought the shoes were off but I am not sure why. I am not a fan of the handkerchief hem but the dress is lovely. If DH likes it, then you probably want to keep it.:D
geocruiser Posted December 7, 2013 #4299 Share Posted December 7, 2013 I love the dress but not the belt. The colors are great.
hotcarib Posted December 7, 2013 #4300 Share Posted December 7, 2013 Hmm, I originally paired it w/gold strappy sandals but didn't like the look. I do agree about the belt! I love asymmetrical hems, but I think my sticking point is the hem AND the pleats~ a little OTT. HMMM:confused::confused:
