SECdawg Posted October 7, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2011 Has anyone done the 4 night cruise to Cozumel on LOS? I have some friends that are going in December and would appreciate any info. Cruise compasses and menus would be great if anyone has them.

Cruise compasses and menus would be great if anyone has them. We are doing a LOS 4-nighter in December as well. My guess is it will be a similar compass, and same menus, as the 4-night cruises on other ships (Navigator, Majesty, Monarch, etc) Well, the compasses will be different as there are many more activities but I suspect it will be the same menus. I'm hoping to be surprised though!

I guess I should have thought of that. Is this her first year doing this the short cruises from Ft. Lauderdale? I know Navigator has done them in the past. MICHLEV1974 Posted October 8, 2011 #10 Share Posted October 8, 2011 I went on LOS on the 4 nighter to Cozumel this spring March 30 sailing. What questions did you have other than the menues and compass? I booked an excursion to Nachi Cocum $50 all you can drink/eat and it was totally worth it. $15 cab ride to the location from the pier. I wouldn't recommend walking there from the pier. They had sushi night in the Windjammer on one of the formal nights and it was sooooo awesome. They even had special black trays to put the sushi and the sauces on...loved it! That was an unexpected bonus. Here's another unexpected bonus: there was a wooden boat full of cubans that we had to call the coast guard to come and rescue. What a day that was. I had a few spa treatments and would recommend doing the tour of the spa when you board so you can see what they are offerring for sail away discounts or sea day specials. Quest was amazing as usual. Deck 10 is noisy if you are on that part of the ship under the pool...dang shuffling of the chairs early in the morning isn't too pleasant. have a great trip. ask any questions :)
tiggerman101 Posted October 8, 2011 #11 Share Posted October 8, 2011 You sure about that:confused:I sailed Liberty last year Thanksgiving week and it was a 7 night western sailing. I was on this cruise as well. It left on November 28, 2010. It was a special run due to the Liberty being chartered for a three day cruise. I took my mother on it because it was a good opportunity to sail one of the big ships. I figured she would like to see it. The ship was great for a short 4 day getaway cruise. My mother loved it and now we are on Allure in two weeks.

SECdawg Posted October 8, 2011 Author #14 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Do they still have Saturday Night Fever and the Ice Show on the shorter cruises? Would formal night be the first sea day like it is on most boats?

stephanie1 Posted October 8, 2011 #16 Share Posted October 8, 2011 You sure about that:confused:I sailed Liberty last year Thanksgiving week and it was a 7 night western sailing. The 4 nighter was the Sunday after Thanksgiving - 3 days after the Thursday. The cruise had just returned from a 7 night cruise and I recall some of the staff in the Concierge Lounge saying "this is just a 4 night cruise". (they were none too happy sounding - I guess its a tips issue) Apparently this was a new occurrence for the Liberty who was just running 7 night cruises but apparently the Budweiser company chartered out the ship for a 3 night cruise right after us so RCCL had to run a consecutive 3 and 4 nighter and then return to their weekly 7 day cruise on Sunday departures. Yes, I remember now...that was when both the Freedom and Liberty did the Bud sailing last year....both Freedom and Liberty did that 4 night revenue sailing just after Thanksgiving.....I was on that 7 night thanksgiving Liberty sailing.....so you were getting on when I got off. stephanie1 Posted October 8, 2011 #20 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Last year the Liberty ran from Miami but now runs from Fort Lauderdale (yeh! I hated the Miami pier. Totally disorganized). Whenever I have left from Fort Lauderdale you can count on getting on the ship efficiently and quickly. In 2008 we waited maybe 10 minutes to get inside the terminal and then another few minutes to board once we got our seapass cards. They had a lot of check in lines and it was a breeze. In 2009 I arrived maybe 5 minutes after they opened the doors, breezed through check in and right on the ship. 2010 in Miami was awful - never again! It was not the fault of RCCL but of the Miami pier staff.
yj2cute Posted October 8, 2011 #21 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Does anyone know if you have to reserve In the Air or SNF on the Liberty? I've read that in addition to Oasis and Allure, the Freedom also takes reservations in advance for entertainment.

seacruise9 Posted October 8, 2011 #24 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Hi, I recently booked the 4-day cruise on the Liberty of Seas that departs on Dec. 15. You can make reservations for three shows: In the Air, Saturday Night Fever and Encore! An Ice Spectacular. Chuck
Saintsfan007 Posted October 8, 2011 #25 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Hi, I've never used the reservation system before, but did so on my Liberty sailing on Dec. 10th. Could you tell me how that works? Is it still first come first serve, or do you have to have a ticket to enter the theater? Thanks in advance for your response.
