Its been awhile since cruising on Holland America. Do past cruisers of Holland America (Mariners) board any earlier or is it first come first board type thing ?

Four * Mariners have priority check-in, not priority boarding. There's a slight, but real difference. If the boarding numbers are given out before the passenger gets in line, then 4* passengers don't jump to the head of the line to board. They only spend less time in line to check in.

The reality, however, is that having priority check-in does tend to move a person further up to board, just not all the way to the head of the line.

Ruth is correct. (NO surprise there. ;) ) We once witnessed a 4* have a major meltdown because they hadn't read the 4* perks close enough and believed the priority check-in also gave them priority boarding. :eek:

On most cruises the PS passengers are escorted onto the ship first.

Followed by the wheelchair and scooter people.

Then the Deluxe Suites go next - S, SA, SB and SC.

Then the numbers and 4 star people are called next and so forth.
