Enchantment of the Seas Deck plans - very confusing on RC website

Anyone here been on Enchantment of the Seas? I find the deck plans on the RC site very confusing.

I'm sailing on the Dec. 17th cruise to Bahamas out of Baltimore. My cabin is #2038 on Deck 2 and would love to know where the important locations are in relation to my cabin before I get on the ship. Places such as the restaurants and gym to start with.

You are on the lowest level - everything will be up.

My Fair Lady is on level 4 and 5. Depending on the meal, sometimes you have to enter at level 4 and sometimes at level 5. The casino and theatre are also on 5. The windjammer is on 9 - if you take the elevator closest to your cabin, it will take you to the correct end of the ship to get to the WJ. (In December, when you've just left Baltimore - you want to be at the correct end or you have to cross an open deck in the cold and windto get there). Gym is also on 9 - on the opposite end.

The Enchantment is a wonderful ship. Have a great time.

I've got one layout question - I read on one website that Enchantment has one hot tub that's cantilevered over the side of the ship - we enjoyed these greatly on Freedom, but I can't tell from the deck plans if this is the case. Is there anybody who's been on Enchantment who can tell us if this is, to borrow from Graham Seymour's desk calendar, fact or crap?

Thanks PantherFan and MS52! :D

The deck plans and MS52's notes were very helpful!

I quickly summarized the main areas in a list below:

  • Level 4 & 5 - My Fair Lady Dining Room - opposite end
  • Level 5 - Palladium Theatre - same end
  • Level 6 - Boutiques/shops - Perfume, Photo Gallery,
  • Deck 8 - Concierge club
  • Level 9 - Windjammer Cafe - same end, Pools, whirlpool, Solarium, Fitness Center, Kids splash pool
  • Deck 10 - Gym & Rock Climbing Wall - opposite end, Jogging Track, Teen Center, Video Arcade, Adventure Ocean, Trampoline

Am I missing anything else important?

Is the "My Fair Lady" dining room part of the all-inclusive fee we pay for the cruise?

I was reading about some tips for a first time cruiser - that we should not go to the buffet restaurant (WindJammer) as soon as we embark as it would be a zoo there from all the folks who have just got on the ship and are starving. Is the My Fair Lady dining room a better choice for the first meal on the ship? This restaurant is not a buffet restaurant right?

TIA!

Our first cruise was on the Enchantment and we loved her! She is a lovely ship and was very easy to get around. We found the ship a perfect size and walking to any part of the ship was not the treck it can be on other ships. There was no cantilevered hot tub and that is something we are looking forward to on our upcoming Freedom cruise. As we boarded the ship the staff at check in said that the Enchantment was known for her staff and they were correct. The staff was amazing, we truly felt pampered at sea. We were hooked on cruising, that was 2 years ago November and we are heading on our 4th cruise. There is nothing else like it, you will love the Enchantment!!!

The My Fair Lady dining room is the main dining room and no extra charge. We did go to the Windjammer after we boarded and did not have a problem but we were one of the first to board so there wasn't too many people yet.

My Fair Lady is your main dining room onboard and is included in your costs. It will not be open for lunch upon boarding however. It is not a buffet style dining room.

I have not sailed on the enchantment before so the windjammer may be your only option for lunch.

The concierge club is a Suite Guest (GS, OS, RS) & diamond plus member venue only.

"My Fair Lady" is the main dining room on Enchantment and is a complementary restaurant. The only thing you'd pay for is a non-complementary drink (soft drink, beer, wine, liquor) or one of the Chops steaks you can buy. It's a traditional restaurant with wait staff and will not be open for lunch at embarkation. Your choices on Enchantment as to where to eat will probably be limited to Windjammer.

Also on Deck Six, there's Chops Grille which is RCI's specialty restaurant. It's a steakhouse - a really good one, at that. Cover is $30/person for it. I also doubt it will be open for lunch on embarkation day, but it's well worth the cover for dinner one night.

Other important places, IMO:

Deck 5: Guest Relations and Explorations! Desk

Deck 6: Cafe Latte-tudes (Coffee shop also serving Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. Not a complementary venue, cost is as advertised on the menu board), Spotlight Lounge

Deck 7: Library

Deck 11: Viking Crown Lounge

The Windjammer is the only place for lunch the first day and it is a zoo. I do wish they would have the dining room open for lunch.

I didn't mention that Chops is also great for a special dinner. We did the Chef's table (or whatever it's called on RCI). It was wine and food pairing and was fantastic.

I don't remember a cantivevered hot tub. They were in close to the swimming pool.

As others have noted, My Fair Lady is not open for embarkation lunch. However, the Solarium (Deck 9, aft) will be open. Limited menu (several types of sandwiches and pizza, burgers, hot dogs, fries, iced tea, lemonade) but - in our experience - much quieter with plenty of available seating compared to the Windjammer (Deck 9, forward).

The embarkation staff will direct you to the Windjammer and you will most likely go up the aft bank of elevators. When you get off at Deck 9, instead of walking toward the front of the ship simply turn around and walk toward the stern. The Solarium entrance is right there.

Actually, as I note in a separate post, the Solarium is open for lunch on embarkation day. This appears to be a well-kept secret. We used it in September and it was a much better experience than the Windjammer, provided you don't mind a limited menu, which we didn't. (Plenty of time to chow down during the cruise!)

  • 2 weeks later...
try this site. You can drag one deck on top of the other so you can tell what is above and below you.

Thank you for this link! Very helpful. It showed me that our rooms are right below the champane bar...does anyone know if that will be a noisy place?

You are actually two decks below the champagne bar. It should be quiet.

There is no such hot tub on Enchantment. There are four total, all toward the center of the 9'th floor pool deck. Two are outside, and two are in the indoor solarium area.

The hot tub question has been answered. What that website might be confusing is, with the extension, two cantilevered decks were added to the pool deck. One of the Pool Bars is cantilevered. The decks on both sides have glass sections in the deck where you can look down at the sea.

HaHa. Yea, I agree. Although, the good thing about that ugly turf is it stays cool and is much more pleasant on bare feet. That wood deck gets very hot in the sun. ;)
