Next up Monday another Fun Day at Sea

DH planned on making this cruise a relaxing one and really had no agenda other to chill out and that is what we did. We had another great night of sleep, wish I were able to sleep like that at home. Today we got up and headed to the Lido deck to get some chairs and set up shop where we did the day before, DH went and got breakfast and I just hung out and read until the annoying Morning Show came blaring across the speakers. DH wanted to go in the hot tub but both of them were filled with kids jumping around and several of them were donning snorkel gear so we opted to just enjoy the sun.

Today they had a pretty good Top to Toe Spa Special 75 minutes for $ 139 that I contemplated doing but for some reason the time got away from me and before I knew it dinner time was upon us. Tonight we got to dinner a little later than we had planned and were seated in a much more crowded and darker section to the left of the hostess area. Little did we know we were sitting right next to a fellow roll call member and her fiance, they can attest that dinner that night was not very enjoyable. The server was very flustered and kept forgetting items, we were also seated near a baby who was about 7 or 8 months old who wailed and was clearly not happy. The family kept throwing toys at the poor baby and then eventually put her in stroller and turned her away from them facing us, this wasn’t pleasant at all.

After dinner we went to $600 Jackpot Bingo and I know many people don’t like this game but two cruises ago I played for the first time and won $700 so we always play a few games. We wanted to make sure we went to the comedy show early tonight so we headed to the casino to listen to the country singer Stan, he was ok but his tone seemed so depressing to me, we enjoyed a few drinks and then headed to wait for the 8:30 Family Friendly comedy show to get out so we could get a decent seat. Tonight we saw Al Romero and he was ok but I though Frank was better. After the show we headed over to the piano bar and found a seat and stayed here until we were ready for bed.

FYI~ They serve late night snacks form 1130-100am on the Promenade Deck a short walk from the piano bar and we enjoyed some calzone and a few other things and headed back to our room for the night.

Here is the menu for tonight~

Sorry I didn’t take too many photos today

Today was also the Groove for St Jude at 3:00 PM, they also had Tea Time at this time both of which I wanted to do but ended up not getting to either of them but it’s just another reason I need to book another cruise.

Up next St Thomas

Subscribing, so I can keep checking back for more. :)

We will be on the Freedom Eastern in January, so I'm really enjoying your review. I'm sorry to hear that you can hear the big screen so well in the Serenity area. That must make it not so very...serene. :( I would have no trouble moving people's belongings that are "saving" loungers though. ;) Love your photos too, can't wait for you to come back!

You'll be on the ship right after me. We'll take good care of her for you.

We leave in just under three weeks for this itinerary. Loving your review! Thanks for taking the time and effort... much appreciated. :)

Have a great time! I enjoy reliving it, feels like I am still on the ship :) I hope to have everything done by weekend, darn work is getting in the way.

Tuesday 10/11 St Thomas 7am- 6pm

We got up early today because we had a tour booked through Fury Charters, we booked this tour independently and were to meet our tour guide at the Fat Turtle Restaurant in Yacht Haven Marina at 8:15am for an 8:30 departure. Our tour was a half day sail and swim with the sea turtles out at Buck Island. The tour was $70 p/p but if you paid by cash it was $65 and included all snorkel gear, flotation devices, beer/punch/water/snacks and pick up and drop off. Our guides for the day were Chris and Donny and they were both great! There were seven of us on this tour and the ride out was beautiful and scenic, the location was very nice and we were able to spend the majority of the time alone before other tours started coming in. We had a great time and I highly recommend Fury Charters! We had never been in Yacht Haven Marina and that too was a treat, beautiful grounds and lots of upscale stores and nice places to eat. After our tour we headed back to the ship to change and head out for some drinks, our first stop was the over-rated Senor Frogs, this was totally not up DH’s alley he found it too loud and hated being taunted to get up and dance so we finished our drink and left. We ended up going to Shipwreck Tavern which was a small walk from the dock and had a few drinks there before heading to the shopping area to get some sunscreen and then it was back to the ship.

Tonight we opted to skip the dining room and had dinner on the Lido deck followed by some drinks in the Casino. Tonight was Sangria night and I love sangria, they had six different varieties and I had three of the same one and they were good! DH even tried one and thought it was pretty good.

Tonight we went to Bingo followed by the show which was Motown with Marcus Anthony, while I thought he was good singer I wasn’t thrilled with the show so we didn’t stick around till the end. We ended up in the piano bar once again and stayed her until my eyes could no longer stay open.

After having a few too many drinks this towel “animal” definitely made me laugh

Loving the review! Love the Sangria night! Thanks for the menus... will help us decide when to go to the Steakhouse. 2nd sea day may be the night for us - so far.

Did you hear anything about the Chef's Table and the menu they are serving on the Freedom? We participated in the Chef's Table on the Triumph and it was fantastic. I've heard talk that the menu may be changing and wondered if you knew or had an idea of the Chef's Table on the Freedom.

Thanks again! Looking forward to the next chapters!

Kathy

Once on-board we headed to the Lido for our first drink and lunch, at this point it was raining out but we were still thrilled to be on board.

We didn’t have much time after eating before it was time to go check out our cabin, we were on the Empress Deck Cabin # 7306 which was Port Side and pretty close to the elevators. The time has come for DH’s surprise! DH put the key card in and opened the door and just stood there like he wasn’t sure if we were in the right cabin, he turned and said “what did you do” and I explained I called that rep back a few weeks ago and took the offer. DH spent the next few minutes looking around the cabin which was very nice! I loved the huge balcony but I think my favorite part was the bathroom, a real shower and a Jacuzzi tub, it was a nice treat and I am glad we had an opportunity to experience a suite.

Great review and pics! Thank you!

We have 14 nights on Freedom in January. Our first B2B no suites left, but have one for our 2nd leg, looks like it will be worth the hassle of moving. I love space! Looks great!

Bummer that folks blagged loungers in the Serenity area...oooh these rude people huh!

Martini s look good, did they do this every night?

Two tops table? Would they have given you a 4 tops for two, if you are happy to wait on anytime? I remember this kind of table of P&O ships, so squashed up it felt more like a table for four than two?

Thanks for taking time to post your review, much appreciated!!:)
