Pizza

Hey guys,

I was wondering what the pizza is like on the Dream, when we were on the Triumph I didn't try the pizza and I was wondering what it was like. Anybody have any pics? lol

No pics ..... But the pizza in our opinion is just Ok. But when it's midnight and you are hungry? It's fabulous!!

We enjoyed it about 10 pm. Did not have to wait to long and it was not greasy. Actually it was ather tasty. We had the pepperonie? and sausage.

The best description I've read said the pizza will be about as good as the pizza at an all you can eat Chinese buffet would be.

Despite negative reviews, our family thinks the pizza is wonderful (we were on the Dream July 2010 and the Liberty in June.) I guess we were lucky and had it on 'off' days when it was good.

Iv had problems with the pizza not being cooked enough for me. uck. I threw it away.

 

Dont expect it to be great. Used to be better, with cornbread meal on the bottom, but they changed it.

:D I'm a bit "older" than most .. and pizza a couple times a week isn't a part of my "diet" ... sooooo ... I had it for lunch three times on Pride last week and I thought it was quite good .. not greasy and always really hot and fresh ! If I can chew it and swallow it .. then I'd give it a two thumbs up ! IMO ! :rolleyes:

The pizza is decent, but when your hungry and its the only thing available it tastes good.

I love the Pizza! Try the goat cheese and mushroom...delish!!

The Pizza has been the same on all the Carnival ships that I have been on. OK but nothing special. At 2AM it is not too bad when it is all there is to eat.

it's going to depend on where your from (being from NY I'm a pizza snob), but as others have said if your drunk of hungry and it's late it does the trick.

I was on the Splendor and thought the pizza was terrible. I'll also admit that I'm a bit of a food snob in general and didn't really think much of anything on the ship was that good, but the pizza was exceptionally bad. I think the thing I couldn't get over was the ultra processed cheese. They use something that would be similar to American cheese slices, ick. It didn't even taste good in the middle of the night.

I guess I am out of the norm.. cause I actually really like the pizza I really hate crust and its a thin crust.. I just get the plain pep and cheese and add lots of chili peppers and parm cheese.. and have some garlic bread to go with... :D

The Pizza on the Fascination was great along with the fresh deli sandwiches served alongside the Pizzeria.

 

The Pizza Chefs could barely keep up with the demand!

My parents went on the Pride and just loved the pizza!:) I would think the Carnival pizza is the same on every ship.

 

It all depends on the person. Some people like it some people dont. I've heard it was amazing pizza.:D

It is not pizza like you get from your favorite hometown Mom & Pop pizzeria, but it was better than your typical frozen pizza. I really thought it was pretty decent, always fresh & hot, good crispy crust & lots of cheese.

If you know good pizza this is not it. However right out of the o ven it is ok.

 

Better yet try the garlic bread and caesar salad.

Not a fan of the pizza. To me it was like frozen pizza. The only difference, I didn't have to cook it.

Disclaimer: I lived outside of Philly for many years and was spoiled by great pizza.

We hated the pizza on the Freedom, but enjoyed it on the Legend, also enjoyed the calzones (you have to order and wait about 10 min) asked for some sauce for dipping on the side, it was pretty darn good!

Thanks CruiseNanny, for the picture. It looks better than some of the pizza I've downed in the past. I'll try pizza just about anywhere. Had some in Hong Kong once and something was definitely lost in translation. Stumbling out of the casino at closing, free pizza always sounds like a winner.

I was on the Dream Oct 1-8 .. just a couple of weeks ago..and there was a very light hint of cornmeal on the bottom.. so I'd say they are still using that.. the pizza was ok.. good filler for late night hunger.. love the Caesar salads .. awesome

Pizza is probably one of the most subjective foods, and everyone has his or her own opinion because it can be prepared in so many different ways.

 

I prefer a simple pizza (not the stuffed-pineapple-calamari-sushi-and-anything-else-you-can-imagine gourmet abominations that so many people seem to like).

 

I really enjoyed the pizza on both the Valor and the Dream.
