Celebrity Eclipse with an 8 month old

Just back from a fantastic 16 night cruise on Eclipse. We took our 8 month old son. I was quite nervous about how it would work out (especially given some of the negative comments about cruising with children on the main Celebrity boards...).

 

The crew onboard could not have been kinder or more helpful (have posted a full report on the 'Reviews' pages). The staff at The Fun Factory were brilliant and the toys kept our son amused for hours!

 

Reading posts on the Family Cruises boards has been so helpful and we used so many of the tips - paddling pool on the balcony and taking our own sheets for the cot were two of the best tips! We also took a children's inflatable armchair (with a fabric cover) for our son and he loved it. He sat in the chair whilst he drank his milk or watched TV!!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your cruise. We are traveling for DS's 1st birthday and in some ways I wish that we would have scheduled it for before he was walking, but I'm sure that we will still have a great time.

Hope you have a great cruise. Our son started walking whilst we were on the cruise. We took him to areas of the ship that were quiet in the day (like the nightclub) and he could practice there without getting in anyones way!

So glad to hear it went well. We're going with our infant in a few months and are a bit concerned after reading some bad comments.
