You all told me I would be.

I fully intended to write a full review of my Oct cruise, that I waited nearly 2 years to go on....but I haven't yet.

The highlights:

Our bar bill was lower than I thought it would be!

The staff was awesome!!

I actually had a wonderful time, even though we didn't do one excursion I had planned.

My sister in law brought back a conch shell out of the ocean that stunk up the entire ship the last night...yes that was a highlight, because it was super funny. I told her not to and that she could get into big trouble for taking it, she did it anyway. The last night when I walked into her room it smelled so bad we all were gagging. While waiting to leave the ship we heard several groups talking about calling GS complaining of the horrid smell. If you were effected, I apologize...LOL The shell did NOT make it off the ship btw.

I sang Karaoke, 3 times! Something I said I would do.

I fell asleep on the serenity deck one evening after watching the sun set. It was amazing.

Progreso was interesting.

Cozumel was beautiful. I can't wait to go back.

I reconnected with my husband, I was reminded that he is and always will be my bestfriend.

The lowlights:

Food was not impressive at all. But I didn't cruise to eat so it wasn't that big of a deal.

The ship rocked and rolled the first 2 days. I didn't get sick, but I did almost roll out of bed at 2 am the first night. I decided that I needed to shave my legs that night, needless to say, when I almost fell out of the shower I changed my mind and went hairy legged until the movement wasn't so bad :p

I wished I hadn't done so much research, I had the deck plans memorized so nothing surprised me.

I missed my 3 children so much. I actually had a slight nervous breakdown the 3rd day.

I didn't meet anyone from my roll call...:(.

I loved it. I want to cruise a bigger ship. The Ecstasy was lovely, don't get me wrong, I'd just like to be on a bigger ship. I am working very hard on a family cruise in 2013...My goal is for it to be our Christmas gifts. My husband had a good time, but we spent more $ than we had thought we would...so right now he is saying no way to the 2013 cruise. Y'all cross your fingers for me.

So glad you enjoyed it..

We sailed after you 10/17... We had a great time in NOLA pre-crusie wish we would have had longer.

I was not overly impressed with our cruise. We had rough seas 2 full days...missed Progresso. Enjoyed Coz even though it was rough after being hit w/ storms. I agree the food was not good. I thought the service left a lot to be desired. My son brought a friend and it was his first cruise and he gushed over everything but I think it was cuz he was a newbie.

I think you would enjoy cruising again. Try something other than Mexico ( IMO way nicer ) also watch the time of year. This was the first cruise I have ever had weather like this.

Good or bad it was still a vacation and I was happy w/ that!

What didn't you like about the food? We cruise in about 3 months and my DH and I are big MDR eaters so I'm curious what was lacking...I meant to say we cruise that ship.

I guess I expected it to be better quality. Many evenings the food was warm to cold.

It wasn't the choices, the choices were lovely. I just expected it to taste better than it did.

The prime rib was so gristly that I couldn't eat it, not to mention this was also a dish that was served cold. The lobster was tough, kinda like the way my husband cooked it the first time he ever cooked lobster...over cooked, lol. I didn't complain or ask for anything else. I ate what I could of what I ordered and if I got hungry later I utilized the room service. All in all I enjoyed the atmosphere...I think I had just seen so much food porn and built up the cruise and food in my head that I was let down by the food quality.

I just got off the Ecstasy today. I wasn't impressed with the food either. The whole cruise couldn't have been improved but overall it was a wonderful cruise!! We will never sail fantasy class ships again. This was our first and last!!! It was to little:( We never had consistancy in the MDR, food was cold, meat was gristley, and we waited for 45 minutes for dessert one night (probably longer thats just when we started to count) we got up and walked out I was mad I really wanted the bitter & blanc, forgot rolls/bread until our main entree was served, never refilled our drinks without us having to ask them to do it, and we were told that most of the crew left when the ship went to dry dock and they have new crew and the new orleans stop was their training period. Not sure how true that is but it does kinda make sense in a way but lets hope they pick it up for port canaveral!! If not I feel sorry for everyone who has to sail on her with some of the crew on their!!

I, too, fell in love with cruising on thr Ecstacy. But WOW!! The complaints of food and service we did NOT experience at all. Service was top notch. Food was good although I did have a tough lobstr tail and cold stuffed mushrooms but overall in was good. I am planning a 2013 Magic cruise for the family. My kids are excited and its sooooo long away.

Wow, we had nothing like that on our recent cruise. We had excellent service, never had to ask for a refill and they never forgot the bread. I do remember the food was only lukewarm 1 or 2 times, specifically when I had the vegetarian "pot pie" thing. It would have been better if hot. I don't eat steak, but DH does and he had the steak one night and said it was good. Sorry that your food was not good. We had a great time on Ecstasy!!!
