drank Posted November 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2011 Will there be enough time for dinner at the MDR (the early seating) to eat and then go to the show
rncruiser Posted November 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2011 Yes, the Welcome Aboard Show is usually scheduled at 7:45, in the middle if the 2 dining times. We have never had a problem getting to the show after a 6 p.m. dining time.
Scotty G Posted November 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 24, 2011 Definitely tell your wait staff that you plan on doing this so they get you out of the MDR in time. There is just the one show so it will be crowded.
BND Posted November 24, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 24, 2011 Shows are all timed around dining times. We always do the late seating and you can tell who is a first time cruiser by all the people that leave the show early to get to dinner. The MDR staff knows when the shows are and when they are over or starting, so there's no rush. There's usually plenty of time to get to each. We've never been to a Welcome Aboard show that was completely full. People will still be unpacking, getting to know the ship and their cabin. satxdiver Posted November 25, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 25, 2011 On the Mariner last October 2010 the Welcome Aboard Show was at 7:45 PM. Meal times were 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM for traditional dining. There was time either after early dinner or before late dinner to attend the show. krispi Posted November 28, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 28, 2011 On the Navigator last week, there was only 1 show the first night, and it was after 10:00 pm! So, yes, there was plenty of time after dinner to make the show. :)
NYCRUISR Posted November 28, 2011 #7 Share Posted November 28, 2011 No Welcome shows on Oasis and Allure. It's a whole different deal on those ships. If you don't watch the TV, you wouldn't know who your cruise director is until such things as The Quest or Love and Marriage games. Too many people to be in one place at one time. That being said, It all worked out well on Oasis for us and the shows. Just different to what we were used to.
