gottagoacruzn Posted December 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2011 Hi guys, is the Capliano Canyon Tour in Vancouver worth taking? Will be on the Sapphire Princess next May, and was thinking about taking the tour, after getting off the ship. Have only read about the bridge. Any thoughts? Virginia It's interesting; although you can do a similar thing yourself visiting Lynn Canyon park (next canyon over) and take a free suspension bridge. Seabus from next door to Canada Place to the North Shore and then bus to either Lynn Canyon (or capilano) is $3.75/ea way
Putterdude Posted December 3, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 3, 2011 Hi guys, is the Capliano Canyon Tour in Vancouver worth taking? Virginia Yes, the Capilano Suspension Bridge is very much worth a visit, it is one of the most popular attractions in the Vancouver area. While the Lynn Canyon bridge is excellent it is very much a natural attraction whereas the CSB is more geared toward tourists. As you may be aware the CSB has a real focus on local native bands and the more recent addition to the attraction is the cliff walk where you walk on a platform which is cantilevered out over the Capilano River canyon. Putterdude Posted December 3, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 3, 2011 As a footnote to the above post I should add that the CSB does offer a free shuttle from about 5 downtown locations; a schedule for which you will find on their website albeit at the present time only the winter sked is shown. http://www.capbridge.com/plan.php

Virginia The free fish hatchery next door is on the canyon floor. Cool and delightful in summer without throngs of tourists. 20 minute stroll through the rain forest is delightful. scottbee Posted December 8, 2011 #8 Share Posted December 8, 2011 Nope. Upper Seymour Canyon (USC) is a lot more scenic than Upper Blackrock Spire
BCHappyGal Posted December 21, 2011 #9 Share Posted December 21, 2011 IMO for a visitor to Vancouver the Capilano Suspension Bridge is definitely worth a visit. Being a local I go to both Capilano and Lynn Valley and Capilano is definitely the most breathtaking of the 2. The suspension Bridge at Capilano is much longer than the one at Lynn Valley. For a visitor to Vancouver the 3 must do attractions IMO are Stanley Park, Grouse Mtn and Capilano and theylast 2 are very easy to do on your own with our public bus system from the cruise ship. Just walk from the cruise ship terminal next door to the Waterfront Transit (bus) station and hop on the Seabus that will take you accross the harbor to North Vancouver and the Lonsdale Quay (which is also a public market) once their walk thru the market to the north end and the bus loop. Here catch the Capilano Road Bus and ride it to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Once finished at the bridge reboard the Capilano Road bus still headed uphill and ride it to the end of its route and you are at the Grouse Mtn tram station. Buy an all day pass for the transit system cost is $9.pp or $7. for seniors.
