Krazy Kruizers Posted August 10, 2013 Author #78 Share Posted August 10, 2013 Does anyone have current bar menus that can be posted? Thanks :) Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app About 3 weeks ago, on another thread, a person mentioned that he had the new bar menus and would post them. So far - nothing -- anywhere. I keep looking.
Plantcrone Posted November 21, 2013 #79 Share Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) I was bemoaning the lack of knowledge about single malt scotches available..as a first time cruiser with selective tastes in liquor (I can't drink mixed drinks-they give me the worst headaches) I stick with scotch neat. Although the prices seem quite high to me, at least I know whats available and can try them ahead of time-since my favorite brand isn't stocked. It was very nice for you and your camera to take pics of whats available..very thoughtful! Edited November 21, 2013 by Plantcrone typo
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 22, 2013 Author #80 Share Posted November 22, 2013 Thank you I checked the bar menu prices on our very recent Nieuw Amsterdam cruise and the prices are still the same. On this cruise we got a lot less Grey Goose -- on the rocks -- for the same price that we paid on other cruises. So -- I agree -- prices are high. Krazy Kruizers Posted November 23, 2013 Author #86 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Funny, they emailed me one yesterday. Eight pages. Could you post the bar menu that HAL e-mailed to you? I am curious to see if it is the same one that I posted which we have had on quite a few different ships. Maybe the daily specials are the only major changes. CuriousC Posted November 23, 2013 #88 Share Posted November 23, 2013 With the Explore 4 package, I wonder if a guest would be able to just pay the difference if ordering a drink or glass of wine that is more than $7.00. For instance, if one were to order a glass of merlot that's listed at $8 per glass, would you likely have to pay the whole $8 amount or just pay the $1 upcharge with the other $7 deducted from the Explore 4 daily package? It looks like the wine selection $7 and under is pretty sparse.
greatver Posted November 23, 2013 #89 Share Posted November 23, 2013 My understanding is that you would have to pay the full $8.

I am not banking on them allowing us to purchase more expensive spirits and allow an upcharge.

pspresto Posted October 23, 2014 #94 Share Posted October 23, 2014 So you can bring your own wine on board a HAL ship? Really? ;) Veendam from Quebec to Boston in June 2015 - will we be able to bring wine on board? I ask because dry white wine is our preferred drink. Chardonnay just doesn't cut it for us.
