Rare Tapi Posted December 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2011 Hello We are planning a cruise to Alaska and our daughter will be 15 months old at the time. We know that Disney and RCI do have dedicated babysitting areas (Rhapsody is getting Royal Babies next year), but the itineraries on HAL are more to our liking. Has anybody used HAL's in cabin babysitting services? I've been getting conflicting information about it's availability. Any other cruise line that may be a good option in Alaska for those under 2? Thanks!
Rare Essiesmom Posted December 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2011 In reading the info on the HAL website, there does not appear to be any babysitting for children under 3. http://www.hollandamerica.com/cruise-vacation-onboard/Activities.action
6rugrats Posted December 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2011 No babysitting on HAL for children under the age of three. And even then, it's not guaranteed as it's done by staff on a voluntary basis.
Rare Tapi Posted December 10, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted December 10, 2011 Thanks for the link :). When I called HAL, the agent I spoke to said that our daughter wouldn't be able to go to babysitting at the kids facilities, BUT that she would be able to use in cabin babysitting. I see that the information provided wasn't accurate. Oh well...
SimpleeB Posted December 13, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 13, 2011 I just got off a HAL cruise with a one year old and my understanding was that any children services on HAL the child has to be atleast 3 years old and potty trained. I didn't actually confirm that with them on the ship - but that is what I had heard.
